Exactly. With highest risks comes the biggest rewards and each fighter should find the balance between being entertaining and just winning. Rashad thought he was an elite striker and paid the prize. If Fitch would do only striking or would try to just sub everyone whe wouldn´t be too succesful b/c wrestling and control are his game.

We all know the UFC record holder for most decisions is going to bring his "grind" it out style to this fight and hopefully the fans will boo Fitch out of the fucking building to send Dana White a clear message that Fitch needs guys like BJ to carry him on a PPV otherwise NO ONE would buy it. We can attend our local HS Wrestling Matches if we want to see what Fitch is going to do. I respect Fitch for being able to be so effective at what he does at this level...but at some point you need to hunt for the kill. If you want to be the best, finish fights. Fitch is happy with the status quo, he doesn't care if he's fighting the high end of the spectrum in Alves and GSP...or the low end in Wilson and Saunders...he is going to go for the UD at all costs and take no risks. I hope to god Fitch gets his head caved in or knocked off his shoulders or gets fucked over by one of the judges for trying to drag this fight out. Maybe it will teach him a lesson.

Please BJ, knock Fitch the fuck out.
Fitch has the same 56% decisions as Machida does and as a grappler myself i find him more exciting of the two. Both are far for being my favourite fighters but they will finish the fight when given the opportunity. As Fedor has shown in his last two fights, just going for the kill is great for the fans but might get you in trouble. Fitch is throwing good punches and kicks and goes for the subs but is not commintting to them enough. It´s not that big of a cange he needs to do, Lyoto and Rashad went from boring decision machines to exciting champions by just starting to take a little more risks.

B.J.'s die-hard-forget-Frankie-had-beat-him-twice-in-a-roll fans, apparently. And 'Superman' is one of those, evidently. He has to be. That said, I'm a fcuking huge B.J. Penn fan, but there's no way that he's still considered the number one contender at 155. That's what die-hard-forget-Frankie-had-beat-him-twice-in-a-roll fans do, though, man, they opinionate, even if it usually comes off ridiculous. It's pretty much like how you had opinionated that Diego was going to destroy B.J., YES! YES! YES! Uh, NO!

I'll be keeping up with the event through this site on play-by-play, but I'm not ordering this one. I'm not interested in the fights, and I won't order an event where Jon "The Blanket" Fitch is in the main event. If Penn vs Fitch was a co-main event, with something more interesting as the main event, it might have saved it for me. I may or may not get negged for this, but I just can't stand watching Fitch fight. When he comes out, I can go to the bathroom, get another beer, go outside and smoke a cigar, then come back in to see him in the 3rd round and know that I haven't missed a thing.

    This.

IMO, Fitch > everyone at WW minus GSP (and arguably Shields).

But- - as I said in the other thread, I really want to see what happens when BJ hits Fitch with a good clean shot.

    So true, so true

Hopefully, after Fitch wins, he gets a tad more respect from the MMA Community.
