To add to this how many fighters that came into the UFC in a co/main event had a lack luster 1st fight. Many from Pride didn't show there best the 1st time. I'd say all the promo is a training distraction and a false ego booster.
So DC's first fight was lack luster, but he won against Mir were one lose arm or leg it could of ended. So I'll judge DC over his next couple of fights before I class his style.

Just look at the fights Fedor had during his prime and compare them to the borefests Cormier has been bringing lately.

As for Frank Mir, he is obviously not Top 10 material anymore. His last win where he looked very good was Cheick Kongo. The fights with Nelson and Crocop were terrible, and Nog was dominating him before the sub.
Borefests you say? Like the time he ko'd Bigfoot. Or the time he dominated Barnett?

Benson Henderson is one of the least impressive champions in present day MMA history.

DC WILL NOT fight Cain. He even said it yet again last night on the post-fight show... quit trippin. He more than likely is gonna try cutting down to LHW sooner or later, but who knows

Matt vs Koscheck? Hell yeah! The Immortal needs to be taken into deeper water, he's outgrown his talent pool. I feel like he deserves a Top 10 level name with his recent performances anyway...

DC and Mir were not impressive at all to me. DC hugged Mir in the clinch for 15 min. Really did not look like ethier omr wanted to be there

well outside of the last 2 fights this card was AWESOME imo... only 2 outside of the co and main event went the distance... we had 8 KO/TKOs and all were in the first 2 rounds.. thats something that an average fan looks for when he watches theses cards (even though some were mismatches).. I was with a bunch of friends watching it and all of those finishes made it more enjoyable

anyone know a card that had a higher finishing rate then 4/12 going the distance? That looks like a pretty special night for me

but as far as the last 2 fights went i expected that outta Bendo but i had higher hopes for DC/Mir.. I gave Gil 1 and 2 and Bendo 3 and 4 with 5 basically being a draw because they both landed but no one landed anything significant.. and then there is the whole gotta beat the champ to be the champ thing... and DC just cage fucked Mir to death im thinking/hoping he wouldnt be able to do that to Cain.. and Cains stand up is way better then Mir

but overall i really enjoyed the event from facebook-Thompson

The right-jab, left-cross followed by a low kick to the lead leg should have been sufficient to keep Melendez at bay. He was scoring in traditional but I like the southpaw stance and he absolutely BELTED him with that one straight left.
