How many times has he defended his title in comparison to other champions?

So much for his retirement talks of the past. Glad he came to his senses.

i doubt he will complete the 10 fights... i just think this locks him in with Zuffa until he retires

So that ought to keep him under contract until he's 41 or 42. I can't even think of 10 good fights for him though.

    Weidman
    GSP
    Jon Jones
    Vitor Belfort again
    Cung Le
    Rockhold
    Rashad Evans

Anderson Silva Inks New 10-Fight UFC Contract

Anderson Silva inks new 10-fight UFC contract - Bloody Elbow

Back in December following UFC 155, UFC president Dana White revealed that Middleweight champion Anderson Silva rejected the promotion's offer of a new 8-fight. Instead, Dana said, Silva requested a 10-fight deal. Until now, Dana's repeated a couple time that the Silva still hadn't officially renewed his contract.

On Wednesday at a MetroPCS media event, Dana confirmed that Silva's new deal is now set. At the Q&A Dana said, "I haven't talked to Anderson in about a month, but as far as I know, it's done." White didn't elaborate on the terms of the contract.

With the deal signed, Silva's now all set for his next title defense scheduled for July 6 at UFC 162. The undefeated Chris Weidman will challenge him for the Middleweight strap in Las Vegas, NV.
