    Kimbo> Rampage
I do not believe that Sonnen was intelligently defending himself... Jones was getting a lot of shots through, even though Chael was blocking some of them when he turtled up. However he did not take enough damage in my book to get the stoppage. Jones would have finished him for sure in my book with 30 seconds left in that position, but again these stoppages are getting out of hand.

Not the worst stoppage... Jones was landing some big shots... Just hate seeing a fight stopped and the fighter easily standing up immediately.

So that could easily leave Belfort and Okami as the only two title challengers in the picture. And we all know how much Silva just loves rematches.
Mousasi was saying how he wanted to move down to MW... that would be a great fight...

Have him fight Bisping or Okami first then fight Anderson.

The problem is you're trying to apply structure and logic to whom gets title shots in the UFC.

I just don't see any way that Silva would give up his title at mw just so he could take a few fights at lhw. A logical fighter would probably want to retire as the champion if possible.

    goodtimes
Do people really want to see Sonnen at 205 again? He had no business in their against Jones, it was painfully one-sided, far more one-sided then Jones' fights with Rampage, Evans, Machida, or even Shogun. He pretty much just showed that he has nothing for a top 205'er.

Sonnen could still beat guys at 185, but I think he's at the point where he should move on and become an on-screen personality for the UFC. It's what he's best at right now.

He will always have people to fight at mw but if he is seriously on his way out the door perhaps moving up to lhw is a bad idea. He has said many times that the lhw division belongs to Machida and that he enjoys fighting at mw.

I dunno I just don't see it happening.

How about Silva v. Belfort, anyone going to buy that one? Probably not. I see him moving to LHW because that is where the money is. Fights against the likes of Jones, Evans, Hendo II, Goose and so on will equal way more money for him.

Plus he is what 37 now? Walks around at 215, think he wants to keep cutting 30 pounds to make weight this late in his career. He could easily pull at Hendo and be even better at 205 because he won't be at all drained from a weight cut.

Silva goes away, Sonnen will move back down to 185 and fight the Belfort/Rockhold winner. Then moves on to face either the champion Weidman, or Bisping for the vacant MW title.

If all of that happened, I think Sonnen would be champ.
