I do not think that Kos is a big draw and if he loses this one, it will be 3 in a row for him. And unless your name is Leonard García, Akiyama or Dan Hardy, chances that you remain in the roster are very slim.
Kos is TUF alumni. It would take him a 4 fight skid with the 4th fight being a mid tier fighter for him to be sent down to the minors.

While I do think Maia's standup has improved dramatically, I think the difference maker will be that Maia still doesn't mix striking and takedowns well. If Josh plays it smart, I think he'll be able to keep Maia's attacks predictable and take the decision.

That said, it'll be interesting to see if Josh gets caught off guard by the difference between wresting and BJJ takedown form.

Those are just the fights that have happened, he has offered to take other fights on late noticed that fell through. He would have to be destroyed by Maia, which won't happen, in order to be fired.

Koscheck by KO aftar a blatant eyepoke that somehow goes unnoticed. Though I hope Maia finishes Josh via some submission, at least then Josh can't go "I wasn't knocked out, early stoppage mr.ref *waawaa*"

Daiz is on a losing streak + a suspension.

Kos has name reconission were a win over him would do more most likely than a higher ranked opponet. Plus I bet Kos begged for this fight since he beat Fitch

    2. Don't write Koscheck off just because of what happened with Fitch. Koscheck has way better takedown defense then Fitch. GSP whose takedown % is around 75 was only able to land 30% of his takedowns on Koscheck when he only had one eye. Hendricks only landed 25% of his takedowns on Kos, Johnson didn't sniff a takedown. Kos' takedown defense is arugably one of the best in all of MMA and Maia will be hard pressed to score a takedown on him. Which means the fight could remain standing for a long period of time and that goes right into Kos' favor.

Prediction: Koscheck via TKO in the 1st. Ruining everyone's plans for Maia.

Yeah.. This is really what I'm scared of.... If Koscheck can get his shit together and start off a clean start again from scratch, this is the way to get the win here and prove he's still here. Then he gets back into a top 5 opponent next..
