Good read. Glad to see BJ give frankie his deserved props. Whether BJ does well at 145 or not, I think he is gonna make a great coach on tuf and I am happy that tuf wont hold up any title fights this time. Also, I wonder how BJ's weight cut is going to go. I hope he at least does a test cut to see how his body handles it.

B.J. Penn: 'I'm coming to beat Frankie Edgar'

Penn detailed some of the prep work he will be doing leading up to the fight with Edgar, and how he plans on hitting the 145-pound mark:

I'm bringing in one of my old coaches, Nova Uniao founder Andre Pederneiras, who gave me my black belt, to train me again. I'm also talking to Mike Dolce to help me make weight. I'm making changes to my camp, but keeping the core for values. I'm going to train with Jose Aldo. I'm hooking up with my roots and getting some great training for this fight. I'm coming to beat Frankie Edgar.

While Penn harbors no ill will toward Edgar, he did make it clear what a victory over Edgar will mean to him and his legacy:

I got nothing wrong with Frankie. He's a great person. I don't think he has a bad bone in his body. All I know is he's the one thing standing in the way of everybody saying that BJ Penn was the greatest lightweight fighter ever.

It would be a very grand moment for me in MMA if Penn were to defeat Edgar in this fight.

It would equally be heartbreaking if he were to lose to him again which is something I couldn't stomach.

Win or lose for Penn, I hope the haters choke on a fat one.

Frankie Edgar: I may retire BJ Penn

"I do think I have his number," said Edgar. "Every fight is different. I'm going to approach this as a new challenge. I'm not thinking he's going to come in the same as he did the last two. I expect him to come in and change a little. I want to show my improvement over the last three years. I think he was kind of close to retirement and I think another loss will maybe decide it for him."

BJ needs to stop thinking about anything after Frankie, because he won't win.. There is no way for BJ Penn to win this fight, I'm sorry, not at 145.

    Dr. MMA
I have no clue how BJ is going to make 145. He hated making 155 and doesn't have the discipline for weight-cutting that guys like Ben Henderson has. If Florian, who had making 155 down to a science, had such a hard time making 145, I don't know how BJ is going to do it. Something tells me he is not going to make weight.

Then we’re going to go sit down with Dana White and Lorenzo and talk story and make sure we put everything together.”
Sounds like some fishy reality tv right there or some WWE.

Hmmm... BJ seems to be angling for a title shot with Edgar is Aldo goes up to 155 and beats Pettis. Maybe he knows something we dont?
