The money is going toward helping gays being oppressed in Russia.

And what exactly should the culinary union do for gays and lesbians and most importantly, why?
Why there must be a donation of money for them? Aren't they normal people with just untraditional sexual orientation? It is considered that homosexuality is not a disease, so why anyone should give money to them??

Sorry, we will have to disagree here.
Your limiting it to an individuals' actions... an entire organization or company can't necessarily be based on the actions of only a few. It's not like the entire UFC roster is constantly on twitter or in the media making homophobic remarks.

Besides that i'm not saying celebrate them, but in the same regard you can't deny that they have done something good either.

UFC donated about $200,000 to the center in early 2012.

White to crazy union: We will beat you every f@$%ing time
    http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news...ery-fing-time/

UFC president Dana White had blunt words for the union, after their latest stunt.

"The bottom line is the culinary union has done nothing for the gay and lesbian community," White told MMAjunkie.com. "They've done nothing, whereas we've done tons of stuff for the community.

"What the culinary union does is they us organizations like this. They use them. They call them and give them bull---- information to try and use them to hurt the UFC or whatever organization they're going after."

"These guys are f---ing scumbags. They do nothing for the gay and lesbian community, and then when they honor us because we've been involved, they try and bash them for honoring us.

"Go away, you f---ing creeps. Just go away. You're not going to win. You're not going to get what you want. You're not going to get Station Casinos, no matter how many scummy things you try to do behind the scenes. We will beat you every f---ing time. Just go away."

Either way by this organizations own account the UFC has down a stelllar job of supporting them that should be waht really matters in this case.

I'm not sure what the issue here is. Dana is a bonfide mysogynist with who uses LGBT terms either in a derogatory sense or simply as insults. Multiple instances of fighters saying anti-LGBT statements without repercussions. Mitrione blasted Fallon Fox is the last one I can remember and they simply suspended him until it was time for him to fight anyways.

I don't see how the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada has any real credibility here. But if you donate $200,000 you too can be honored by them regardless of your past. Seems like a good deal to me.

Just me but if you are fighting to get your union in somewhere that you truly figure it belongs then take the fight there... waste of time and it comes off as nothing but petty to try and target a company that's not directly involved in things. All the union accomplishes here is pissing people off and makes them want to fight back even more. No one is going to cave into the union and their pressure tatics in this case...

I would personally be outraged. I'm a member of teamsters and a couple years ago I found out that my union was lobbying the government for gun control. Myself and my coworkers were pretty pissed off. Unions shouldn't be lobbying for frivolous things unless it is put to a vote.
