That reach would kill him. I remember Reem pretty much landing whatever he wanted standing until Chuck took him down and wore him out.

No. Jones absolutely destroys any version of Chuck Liddell.

Dana White: Jon Jones more accomplished light heavyweight champion than Chuck Liddell

"Jones has had the toughest run of guys in the UFC. I mean, to get to the belt and to defend the belt, Jones has had to go through hell. Yeah, and he's the most accomplished. Nevermind Tito Ortiz, let's talk about Chuck Liddell, somebody who could actually really fight. Even Chuck Liddell, the things he accomplished and the things that he did, what Jon Jones has accomplished is greater than any light heavyweight, ever."

    I agree.

Moreover, true technical dominance is rarely truly exciting. Excitement in fighting implies a certain amount of mistakes being made on both sides that make for a back and forth battle. Someone as masterful as GSP simply won't leave those openings. I'd liken it to Lennox Lewis, Klitschko, Pernell Whitaker, etc in boxing.

Do I wish they would go for it from time to time? Yes but you have to admit that more often than not GSP's opponents are fighting more "not to lose" than trying to going for it as well.

finishes are not a prerequisite for exciting fights.

He didn't say there was anything wrong with how they fight, just expressed he doesn't enjoy watching it as much. The man in entitled to his opinion. I definitely enjoyed watching pre mat Serra knockout GSP. Much exciting. I respect technical jab jab take down GSP... But I don't enjoy him as much. It's not as exciting, partially because he's so damn good at it he makes his competition look weak.

And I was very impressed with GSP's performance against Diaz. Diaz is not a joke at all in the ground and GSP really schooled him. It was a very impressive performance.
Great point, he was probably in as much danger or more staying on the ground rather than getting TDs and then backing off and going for more.
