    I hope you're right.

Also, jeez Aleks is a hot mess lately. Cafe brawls must be wild.

He's not good off his back when he's getting bombs dropped on him. But he can usually get back to his feet from scrambles.

CroCop has good take down defense, he should probably be more worried about getting KO'ed.
Right but isn't it safe to assume that this guy has got a decent takedown? Mirko isn't exactly good off his back.

Plus, Alexey Oleinik is normally a LHW fighter.

I watched Alexey's last fight in October in ProFC. His submissions are slick, but I see CroCop easily taking this.

Apparently Aleks had a fight with some guy at a coffee in Moscow and the guy ended in the hospital with several injuries (pfff he can be glad that he is alive. Imagine street fighting a professional MMA fighter that is 6"4 and weighs 260 pounds)

Such a shame that Aleks ruined his life like this. Hard to imagine that Fedor is his brother. Sometimes it is hard to imagine how 2 brothers can be so damn different. One is the most respectful fighter ever, extremely religious, very quiet and polite.
The other one is a former convicted, has been in plenty of scandals, sleeps with whores, beats up people in the streets. WTF??

Sounds like a big step up in competition. Too bad Aleks let his life slide like this.

CroCop gets new opponent to replace Aleks Emelianenko

Mirko ‘CroCop’ Filipovic has a new opponent for his fight at Legends 2, which takes place November 8 in the Russian capital city of Moscow.

He had been due to rematch Aleksandr Emelianenko in a rerun of their meeting under the PRIDE FC banner. That fight ended in a KO win for Filipovic but Emelianenko Jr. was early in his career at that point.

The rematch was scratched last week when Emelianenko was caught up in yet another scandal resulting from a drunken incident in his native Russia. Media footage of his arrest following an assault allegation showed that he was in poor physical condition and hardly ready to fight on November 8.

Alexey Oleinik fighter will replace him, says promoter Ruslan Suleymanov. Oleinik is a Bellator and KSW veteran with a 47-9 record. He is known as ‘The Boa Constrictor’ and has 38 submissions wins to his name.

“This is one of the top Russian heavyweights in MMA. Oleynik won many times over the last few months. With Alexei we can expect a very good fight,” said Sulejmanov.

"Of course, replacing Aleksander with Alexei will upset some people, while others will be please. People are different. Aleksander is an infamous athlete and person so he has fans and detractors in equal measure.
