UFC's White not dwelling on Nick and Nate Diaz: 'The world moves on, man'
    http://mmajunkie.com/2014/05/ufcs-wh...d-moves-on-man
“The thing that’s sad about it: I like them,” he told MMAjunkie. “And I used to have a really good relationship with Nate, but fighting or any other sport, it isn’t a profession. It isn’t a job. It’s an opportunity. It’s an opportunity to make money. It’s an opportunity to achieve great things in a short window of time.

“And if they want to sit out their window of time, for the rest of their career, that’s up to them.”

The younger Diaz, who halted a two-fight skid in November with a TKO victory over Gray Maynard, has made public his demands for more pay and another shot at the title. White isn’t exactly lending a sympathetic ear.

“That’s not really the way it works,” he said. ” … We keep offering Nate fights, and he turns them down. Nate, by not responding, thinks he’s not turning them down. But by not responding, he is turning them down. That’s not really how it works, you know?”

As a promoter, White surely knows that the Diaz brothers are still big draws. They intrigue fans, they know how to promote fights simply with a little trash-talk, and despite the recent inactivity, they remain top-10 ranked fighters in their weight classes.

White, though, said he’s ready to move on.

“It’s not frustrating for me at all,” he said. “If the Diaz brothers don’t ever want to fight again, that’s up to them. They’re fun to watch. I know people like to watch them. But you can’t make grown men fight. They either want to fight or they don’t.

    “The world moves on, man.”

Dana White claims 'inactivity' reason for Nate Diaz UFC rankings deletion, while Dominick Cruz sits at No. 9
Earlier this week, former No. 1 Lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz, was noticeably absent from the latest round of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) official rankings.

Conspiracy theories swirled, from it being a simple mistake to UFC and Diaz parting ways.

Company president Dana White was a guest on "UFC Tonight" earlier this evening and attempted to clarify the situation, calling it a deliberate move because of Diaz's "inactivity."

However, Diaz most recently waxed Gray Maynard at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 Finale in Nov. 30, 2013. That's less than six months ago, which doesn't really make much sense, considering former Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz -- who has not seen the inside of the Octagon in more than two years because of various injuries -- currently holds the No. 9 spot in the 135-pound division.

When gently pressed by show hosts Chael Sonnen and Kenny Florian to elaborate, White rationalized that T.J. Grant was also removed from the rankings, even though he has been dealing with serious brain-related trauma (concussions). Of course, the analogy makes no sense just based on the aforementioned Cruz example alone.

In fact, former Middleweight champion Anderson Silva is clogging two spots, one on the pound-for-pound list and the 185-pound rankings. And he's out for more than one year thanks to a shattered shin.

White sprinkled in that Diaz was "turning down fights" and "hasn’t accepted any fights (not responding to offers)" and is unsure if, or when, he's ever going to fight again.

His partial quote (transcribed by FOX Sports 1):

"Everyone is talking about Nate Diaz being removed and so has T.J. Grant, for inactivity. Early on we let Dominick Cruz hold the title for as long as we did. But it's unfair for the guys who are staying active. When you have a guy like T.J. Grant and they have an injury, that's pretty serious so they get dropped, but when they come back, they'll get added back. The same for Diaz -- he's not taking any fights and we're not sure when he will. When he comes back, he'll be ranked again."

Nate Diaz pulled from UFC lightweight rankings
    http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2014/5/6/...kings-mma-news
Not even 24 hours after T.J. Grant was pulled from the UFC rankings, presumably due to his inactivity and uncertain future, former title challenger and long-time veteran Nate Diaz has also been dropped. Diaz was placed 5th after Grant's removal, and now everyone below Diaz has moved up one spot, with Joe Lauzon snagging the last ranked spot at #15.
We should note that there doesn't seem to be anything on the radar suggesting that Diaz has been removed from the UFC roster entirely, so for now it appears that his shiny new "unranked" status could be stemming from the never-ending butting of heads between the UFC's brass and the Diaz Brothers

It's going to get to the point where they won't have a choice but to pay Barao what he's worth in order to keep him on the roster. I can't imagine they'd let him go to any other organization especially if he remains champion until his contract ends.

I agree that the line of Barao "becoming the star he needs to be" is bullshit. He is the best fucking bantamweight on the planet right now, he likely smokes Cruz when he returns (if they fight) and if/when he moves up to featherweight I wholeheartedly believe Barao is dynamic enough to not only contend but become champion. Which will only increase his worth further.

It'd be in their best interest to redo his deal now before he potentially obliterates everyone in his path and his value gets even higher.

And Nick Diaz wants 500K just to show...

Thomson has looked good, his loss was a very close fight to the former champ. Meanwhile, neither Diaz brother has fought or done anything relevant in a while. Why would he get drunk and bother with them?

Nate Diaz isn't buying Josh Thomson's excuse of a stolen phone
    http://mmajunkie.com/2014/05/nate-di...a-stolen-phone
Josh Thomson seemed to issue a challenge to Nick Diaz – while taking a shot at his brother, Nate Diaz – before saying he didn’t send the tweet and that his phone was stolen.

The younger Diaz isn’t buying it.

UFC didn't help matters by giving him a title shot after GSP asked to fight him of course, so I feel like part of this is their doing.

Dead horse. Beaten. Blah blah blah.
