I agree with you, people hear they make a couple hundred grand even 3 or 4, and they think it's a shit load of money, which it is, but like you said, most people don't realize the are on the road 300+ days a year, paying for hotels every night, and car rentals, food, and drink, and their 'roid cycles...

    I wouldn't exactly call that a fight...lol

    More like a total squash.

And yes there have been a few rasslers that have made some feeble attempts to fight in MMA and have actually won a few matches...so OK...I'll give you guys that one.

And I get it...the rasslers all do it for the great cash and the free nookie.

But having worked security at some WWE , WCW, etc. events in the past which allowed me plenty of time and opportunity getting a good close look at the average female devoted rasslin fan...that is just kinda scary.

Plus $100,000.00 may sound like a lot...untill you factor in their traveling expenses they have to pay for out of their own pocket...like hotels, meals, rental cars, airline tickets, etc...since these guys constantly travel about 300-350 days a year all over the world like a band of gypsies.

That not real great compensation for being laughed at constantly or treated like a big joke.

So I guess I still just don't get why they do it.

Also, it was on another thread, someone posted a link to a MMA fight between Kimo and Bam Bam Bigelo.

As to why wrestlers do it, it's because they like the entertainment factor and the visual recognition when you make it big.

Then there's also the fact that an almost bottom tier wwe wrestler gets $100,000 a year and at the top you're talkin in excess of $1 million. If you want to make money and you've got the look and the build that would be why.

On to the MMA side of it, a few wrestlers have crossed over although of the top of my head I can only think of Bart Gunn (I can't for the life of me remember his real name) and Sean O'Haire. Bart gun recently beat Cabbage and is looking for a match against butterbean. Sean O'Haire has a record of 1 - 4 last I saw.

So if you are gonna say about how bad they will be owned at least back it up with those facts

when pro wrestlers want to call out mma guys i want to know what the mma community has to say for itself
Well why didn't you just say so in the first place?

I can probably help you out there...and maybe save you a lot of needless typing too.

I believe confidently that I can speak for the entire world-wide MMA community with this response to any over paid, steroid injecting, pretty spandex speedo and shiny boot wearing, fake dyed blond long hair wearing, forehead slicing, fake fighting 'rassler that wants to talk trash about any MMA fighter:

" HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.....are you freakin' kidding me?"

    or this one :

"Piss off pretty boy...before you get hurt."

Seriously though... I'm not trying to be a jerk really...it's just that I find any serious threads or posts about comparing rasslers to MMA fighters posted around here pretty pointless and funny as hell.

So if there is any possibility that I may have offended any devoted rallin' marks around here...please allow me to offer my most sincere and humblest of apologies.

After all...rasslers are athletic as hell, take a lot of risks of getting injured to do what they do..plus they and ther loved ones also suffer and sacrifice emotionally, physically, and financially just for their fans...only to get screwed around constantly by their organization's corporate people.

And they have got to know that their career is going to be brief and they are going to end up busted up, broke as hell, and forgotten when it is all over...just like the average MMA fighter.

I just for the life of me can't understand why the hell anyone would want to be one.

At least MMA fighters are in a legit sport and get respect for what they do.

    I mean what's next?

Threads about how good of an olympic figureskater Tim Silvia would be?

After all...I'm sure some mma fans watch figureskating and figureskaters are athletes too and they train real hard.

And Tim looks really graceful when he fights...lol
other than the flying shit and weapons pro wrestling is a fake version of mma. it makes sense that the worlds cross over. alot of guys from both come from the same backround techniques and when pro wrestlers want to call out mma guys i want to know what the mma community has to say for itself in response. if you really have a problem with that then when you see the word wrestling dont look and you wont have a reason to bitch

With all due respect, no need to be a dickhead about it, mate. On the first page, there's exactly one thread that has anything to do with pro wrestling, and it's based on apparently real statements made by both WWE and UFC people. It's directly related to MMA, so I don't see how it couldn't belong here. I hardly think it threatens this forum in any way. At any rate, bumping it like you did will just keep it on the first page that much longer.

If he had made a thread only involving WWE, I can see how you'd have a point, but you don't here.

I guess I have to go looking again because I thought it would be more discerning here. maybe I was wrong.
Maybe it's because there's a definite commonality in demographics between wrestling fans and MMA fans?
