its funny that k1 is blaming the ref for not stopping the fight when the only reason it wasnt stopped was because it was saku and k1 needed him to win after bringing him over from pride. if that had been any other fighter it would have been stopped like everyone thought it should be.

That was one of the WORST displays of refereeing in the history of mma & Saku is now going to pay for it.

Any anti-mma lobbyists get a hold of that fight & it will be damn hard to justify this great sport again.
What really gets me is that Sen. McCain is leading the charge to get MMA banned, yet he likes to personally attend boxing matches. Looking at history, those boxers are not doing so well in their old age.

I once read that there are less head strikes in a standard MMA match than in a standard boxing match. I wish I could remember where I read that little piece of info. I would imagine this is because you can submit an opponent to end a match and there is a ton of grappling that doesn't involve strikes to the head.

I like good fights and I like to see a good beating. I do not like to see permanent injury.

After watching the fight I have to give props to saku. But in all fairness he looked more out of it then Ken Shamrock did.

Herb dean did Ken a favor. Not only did he save him the embarrassment of another beating at the hands of tito but he also saved him several thousand dollars in cosmetic surgery to put his face back together. Herb absolutely did the right thing and the potential injury to Sak proves it. It will be a god awful shame if this ends up retiring him. Which is possible if there was any major damage. Remember Joe Mesi?????

It was directed at everyone who bitched about Herb Deans decision to stop the fight when Ken was clearly finished in the Ortiz fight.

Also Smirnovas gassed after throwing bombs on Saku's face for 3 minutes solid. Throwing punches like that will sap your energy faster than pretty much anything else. Ordinarily he wouldn't have gassed cos any ref who has a clue to what they're doing would never have let that fight go on that long.

That's what you get when you have such a big name making their debut in some of these organisations.
