Brandon Vera? That's not just premature, that's crazy talk. Wait till he actually beats a top 10 fighter before he has a chance to beat the best fighter in the world.

I'd have to agree with some of the others that say Josh Barnett. He's pretty well rounded. He isn't the best striker, but he's stood with some of the best strikers in the world and didn't do too bad. He's got great wrestling and submission skills.

I'm not saying he would beat Fedor or anything, but he hasn't had the chance yet. I think he'd give him a tough test. Guys like Mirko, Nog and others have had their chance, and failed. I think Josh should get a shot eventually.

this sounds premature... but Brandon Vera would actually stand a chance against Fedor... Fedor is a beast... Mark coleman made Fedor look crappy untile he got caught in a armbar but other than that.. Liddel has the strking power... but the honest answer is NO ONE right now...

Yes Yes, Barnett would not come close, becasue you like the other knob for some reason think Barnett would stand and strike against Fedor... Barnet is a WRESTER smart guy, not a striker, a WORLD CLASS WRESTLER who weights more than Fedor, is as quick as Fedor and is just as good of a wrestler as Fedor and has great submissions as well. And is also in the best shape of his life, even Cro Cop has acknowledged the fact that Barnett is in phenominal shape and is looking very difficult to beat right now, funny you haven't.
I agree ,but I think your selling Barnett's striking skills short.Although I think his ground game is better than his standup Barnett is no slouch on the feet.I think with his size advantge he could maybe possible atleast be competitive with Fedor and could maybe possibly even pull off the upset.

Actually he fought about 4 months ago at Jungle Fight 6 in Brazil. I think his unimpressive showing at WFA:King of the Streets had a little more to do with it being his 1st fight in the US and wanting to just come out with a win. He's always been more of a counter puncher and White didn't want to take the risk to constantly go after him. I think in his next fight he'll be more aggressive now that he's got that 1st win on US soil out of the way.

Pride, not sure but UFC IMO it is the same reason Rampage is not in UFC and it's because UFC would have to market them as "the fighters who beat their champs" (if they did not, once people found out it would destroy some of UFC credibility) and in order for UFC to maintain this mythical status with Chuck and Rich they need to distance themselves from anything that would prove otherwise. Even avid UFC fans that have been watching it for yoears but still do not watch other organizations don't know about rampage or Lyoto, their only exposure is when they are seen at a UFC event as a spectator or brought into the ring like Wand but if you do not research to see who they are, you'd never know and UFC is well aware of that.

Rampage would be a beast in the cage, Lyoto would fight exactly the same in a cage, both would've been huge pickups for UFC yet they did nothing to secure them so IMO for the reasons stated above that is why.

Also, Lyoto's return in WFA washis first fight in over a year and it was obvious, his skills are rusty. He did beat Franklin and Penn (Vernon sucks) but h is also heavier than Penn. He is certainly a great fighter if he can get back into his groove so I hope to see a Rampage vs Lyoto match sometime down the road (this is likely what WFA has had in mind since the beginning of this all).

Dunno if he could hang with Fedor but the dude has a very impressive record with wins over Tiger White,BJ,Ace and Bonnar i mean shit thats a helluva start to a career, why the hell isnt this guy in UFC or Pride?
if he stays winnin' I think in due time he could hang with Fedor, I mean he dominated Rich Franklin and Rich has heavy hands.. Lyoto knocked him out pretty much.
