ROTFLMAO-That was the line of the night! I spit my drink out my nose when he said that!

I think the Karma police got Chris as well. All the "send him back to fight in second rate japan" comments bit him in the ass. Sometimes too much of the WWE promo style gets you...

yeah but in that Silva fight, I think he could have used tools he already had such as grabbing him and driving him into the fence for a round of foot stomps, body punches, leg frogs (which he is good at),inside uppercuts and possibly a take down into some ground and pound. Then try something to the same effect in the second round to tire him down even if its boring, then by the third I guarantee Silva doesn't have the energy to move so swiftly on his feet, and Lebens striking game comes more into effect. But instead he knows Silva will bang with him from the get go so he gets giddy like a kid before christmas. My point...I think he has a lot room for improvement but I still think he already has the tools to be a great fighter, and a champion within due time.

"Anderson Silva used one thing that others that are falling to the left hand bomb didn't.A jab and footwork to stay the hell away from Leben and use distance"

That is my point: Good strikers are going to continue to do this to him. Silva's jabs were snapping back Leben's head.

I dind't mean to insinuate his punch was a lucky punch. It was cleaner than probably even he expected though. I just see solid strikers working him over, until he decides he isn't going to prove EVERY FIGHT he has a better chin than anyone else.

Hell of a knockout though! I enjoy watching him fight, love his heart, but he has to step up his defensive game to move up.

While I agree with you to a certain extent,I also disagree. While that isn't the best strategy it is very effective with a guy with a beard like Lebens.
Anderson Silva used one thing that others that are falling to the left hand bomb didn't.A jab and footwork to stay the hell away from Leben and use distance. Most guys hit Leben and keep hitting them then they want to hit there jab plant there feet and throw a hard straight right but whenever they plant there feet they are dead where they stand, because the left is coming and your lights are going out, whether he is looking or not,he knows where you are at.Hence the dead on accuracy.People talk about Leben winning on "lucky" punches, the truth is he has a blueprint to how each of his fights end. Silva is the one truthfully lucky who landed a punch to the temple and then one to the jaw and actually hurt Leben,to hurt Leben is lucky, not to get punched by him.I guarantee you if Leben could have regained composure,Silva would have stopped bouncing around by the 3rd round and got caught with something with some stank on it.

All these different leagues are confusing me.Well if Leben was allowed in Listers league Lister would get KTFO,he wouldnt take Leben down,he would gas and throw his little ballerina feathery soft punches and get the big left Leben hammer and go to sleep and go back to his league.Whats his best weapon? Inviting someone to guard? Dude is a glorified BJJer.
If you don't know what the phrase not in the same league as meens, then I would suggest going back to some form of school. My 11 year old understands what than phrase meens so what part of it are you having trouble with? And I'm sorry but Leben couldn't handle Lister even if he fought as bad as he did last night. Hell, I bet he couldn't handle Sasaki.

What was Leben's quote after the fight? Something like "when I feel their right hand hit me on the nose, I throw my left. Maybe not the best strategy."

There is NO WAY he becomes champ with a "plan" like that. You saw what happens when a good striker lets him ploay that game. He even admitted he had his eyes closed when he hit the knockout punch.

Fun guy to watch, nice left hand, but nowhere close to champion material...

Leben though is not in the league of Franklin, Silva, Tanner or Marquardt (sp?) and Lister for that matter. I like watching the guy fight but he aint gonna never be no champ. Unless it is in King of the Cage or somewhere else.

Leben admitted he threw that punch wildly and was just hoping to connect.

Leben will lose 99/100 times to Anderson Silva, and he'd be beaten by Rich too. I don't think he can hang with the best of the best.

leben sucked.. he was sloopy as hell and the only reason he didnt get koed is he has a solid chin... he has no footwork and if he fights another top tier striker he will get koed!! leben has potential and if he trains right and dedicates himself he could be top competition. i dont know if he'l ever be champ the way the div. is stacking right now but we'l have to wait and see....i just hope he gets some fucin footwork!
