see, i think GSP is guaranteed the next title shot, and here's why. if, and when haha, Hughes loses to Penn again he will not get a rematch. you can't lose to somebody twice and get a third match, especially if it's for a title. with the exception of Shamrock/Ortiz III, a third fight between BJ and Hughes will not happen if BJ wins. So we will see Penn vs. GSP II before Hughes gets another title shot.

just a side note, when Hughes loses to Penn again, i hope he fights Diego as his comeback fight...and MAULS him!!!

That's a big only! How many guys have you seen lose because they gassed.

I think Matt has improved his standup a lot too, just hasn't had a chance to show it yet. I'd say he's improved his submissions! Lighting fast armbar of GSP and getting Royce in a legit sub. Royce just wouldn't tap.

Will be glad to see Matt redeem that loss this Sat.

how the hell will it just be definite like that?

i honestly don't see any argument to where Matt can just beat BJ. BJ has better hands, BJ has better BJJ, and he won last time. since then, Matt has gotten better at submissions, but BJ still has the edge there, as well as standing

the only thing that is to Hughes' advantage is that BJs cardio is suspect

matt will beat bj but gsp would beat matt in a rematch, and gsp is better then bj.gsp best, then matt then bj. but bj will go back down to 155 once the belt is in place, but he will have a hard time with sherk or pulver.

Thats where the Judgmental thing comes in. I keep thinking he is kind of the prejudice type. I don't know just a gut feeling.

not quite Hughes/Gracie domination, but he just positioned him wherever, hit him with a bomb, and just subbed him. Hughes was moving around, but Penn just utterly beat him. its not a fluke loss.
