I saw the same thing he definatly was trying to use his head. Its uncomfortable to watch. He looks awkward and uncoordinated except when he shoots.

Matt is great at getting people down and holding them there, but thats it. All the training in the world will not change what is in this guys heart and its not blazing people and its really not getting blazed. The first time this happens we will not see or hear from Matt Hamill again. He should think of training young kids to wrestle. That would be productive for him and others.
How can you question this guy's heart? Ok, lets ignore the fact that he's deaf. He is still a great wrestler and his heart was one of the reasons why Tito picked him.

And of course practice changes things. He will be more confident in other areas as he works on it and he will be more comfortable in that area.

Bottom line is that he is a crappy fighter and one of the slowest fighters I've seen. Once he meets someone of quality, he will be destoyed (based on how he did in his last few fights). But I wouldn't go around questioning the guy's heart. the guy lacks skill at this moment and he can change that. But I just don;t know how far his natural ability will take him. He's strong but that seems to be the only thing he has.

There was a point in the match where he continuously was punching Seth in the back of the head and he kept sticking his fingers in Seth's cut which is illegal.

the ref was pretty much of top of the bell so that hamill didnt continue....even after the bell rang he barely got an offense in because the ref was right there to stop him. im sure the ref was watching the clock to make sure he was the ASAP to make sure matt was off seth

When I think of other fighters in his weight class I dont see him going far. His stand up is so slow. If he fought someone with good take down defense he is in trouble. I like him though I guess he is a good guy but put your friggin hands up before you get ktfo...

He's gotten the job done on both occasions with simple wrestling. I agree LNP does not make the most entertaining fights. But what do you expect this guy to guy out grapple a grappler or trade with a better stand up fighter??? Of course not. Seth knew he was gonna come out and wrestle with him, it wasnt a secret. Until someone can defend his take down he's gonna keep winning similar decisions or until he gets more training. Either way his stand up game is the pits!!! But he;s a likeable guy

i've only seen matt's fight on TUF and the one on the TUF finale and he is one of the sloppiest fighters i've ever seen. there are points where his stand up looks like a junior high brawl and as for giving him slack for only having 11 months training? fuck that. he's on the big show, he needs to look like it. if he was in a KOTC or something maybe i'd give him a little slack, but i don't give slack in the UFC or Pride.

hahaha....yeah, the guy was extremely sloppy last night. and it did seem he was fighting dirty. his mma needs some serious work for sure. but the guys wrestling and strength are really impressive. his slam on seth in the third round (after he looked completely gassed) was awesome! if the guy works on some things he could really be good in the future. but if he keeps his hands down like that....and strikes that slow and sloppy...he's gonna get ko'd by his next opponent!
