I'm not sure if it was televised or not. I didn't have HDNet at the time the event happened. I saw the fight later on one of the highlight shows that WEC does from time to time when they aren't holding events.

It will be nice to see Polakowski fight someone else besides Olaf now though, because all 3 of his MMA fight are against him.

haha man, you don't need any coffee. I thought it was a pretty good free event also.

I think that Terrel/Moreno was probably the least exciting match. Terrel had a game plan though, and he stuck with it and won. He is out of the Xyience Training Center. I think Randy Couture is one of the trainers over there, and I could definitely see it in Terrel's style with the takedowns and GnP.

Olaf/Polakowski III was decent, but didn't compare to their 1st 2 bouts. Their 1st fight was one of the bloodiest in WEC history. I agree with your take on the fight though. Franca/Diaz was a good match too. I'm a Franca fan, so I was rooting for him also. Diaz came out strong and used his huge height advantage. His boxing really looked nice in the 1st. In the 2nd it was a different Hermes. He was revved up and took it to Diaz with strikes. Diaz fought back, but that sweet armbar from the bottom was too much. It was a nice win for Hermes. I wonder who the UFC will set him up with next.

    What did you think?

Hey Ninja, what did you think of the show tonight.

I liked the Terrell/Moreno fight. It got a little slow at times, but enjoyed it over all. As long as the show in general is a mix, I like to watch fights like that too.

Loved Polakowski vs Olaf. Olaf's stand up looked a lot sharper in the first round, especially his defense. Previously he just took a lot of punches and counted on his chin. This time he was ducking and weaving. Good head movement. I saw him breathing hard about 3 minutes in so it was no surprise that he was obviously worn out in the 2nd and 3rd. Like I said before, heart of a fighter, he kept on going and made the 3rd round close. I wonder if the gassing out is his age catching up with him. He may need to focus on that more than he has in the past. Could you see some of Chuck in Polakowski?

Nathan Diaz vs Franca didn't disappoint either. I was a little surprised at the first round. Diaz has improved quite a bit since I saw him fight last. I was rooting for Franca, so it made me nervous. Then he comes back in the second and starts unloading on Diaz and then that armbar. I agree with what you said in the other thread, he set that up perfect. Anyone who hadn't watched a lot of BJJ would have never seen that one coming.

Can you tell I'm still revvvvved up?

Ya gotta love Olaf, heart of a fighter. I think Franca's experience will win out.

Thanks for the update, since I was too lazy to look for myself.

Looks like either they are going to have some people showing with really short notice or they are waiting on signatures. Do you think I should add "IMO" to that, just to be safe?

I checked out the WEC website. It looks like James "Sandman" Irvin isn't fighting after all. Mike Moreno's opponent will be David Terrel out of Xyience Training Center. Not to be mistaken with David Terrell from Nor-Cal Fighting Alliance. Justin Levens opponent has also been named. He'll be taking on Justin Hawes.
