i just wanted to bring up something ive seen a lot of lately that i think we need to all think about. All i hear, after the show is over is "cb is one dimensional, hope he loses" and "jesse is a pretty great fighter, hope he gets his shit together" Those statements are a load of shit imo. look back at their fights and compare skills and i think its pretty obvious CB has much better skills in everything, sub defense, wrestling, standup, etc than Jesse, but because people dont like CBs arrogance they act like he is one dimensional, he was/is the best or one of the best fighters on the show and certainly a much better mixed martial artist than Jesse in my opinion, and i think we should stop bashing him and praising Jesse.

I liked this season a lot. I think the talent was much better and the first 2 episodes weeded out a lot of guys who probably didn't want to fight. I think TUF means to connect you to guys you really we ant to root for in the future, and while i don't want to root for Danzig (ok maybe a little) or herman or grove, I want Amir to become a champ one day. Through TUF, they generated a fighter that will be a draw.

I also think after reading the blogs that the alcohol isn't as much of a problem as it's made to be. It's a problem, but only as much as the producers filming it make it to be. After reading the blogs, it became clear that what I thought was 10 consecutive nights of partying were actually mostly the same night. I know there was a lot of booze, but I think the filming added a lot to it. Also, I think people like gerald, Dolce, Dante, Matt Brown and Kramer continued to train after their losses, instead of peacing out. I felt that in what limited training we saw, more people were involved, which makes me thing this season's cast was of a higher caliber. If the production focused more on that, it's probably less exciting, but in my mind better to watch.

All in all, either second/third fav season so far (and i never bashed this season thank you).

I made that point in Week 2 after the remaining qualifying fights. This season was littered with .500 fighters or worse and guys without a single professional fight. Amir is the exception to the rule but guys like Matt Riddle just don't belong in the UFC. I don't think he even qualifies for Elite.

Yeah even with the first two episodes if was apparent to me that the talent level was not all that great. I mean the little 32 man tourney to enter the show was nice but like I said you could tell that allot of the guys while tough are just not UFC caliber fighters. I mean not even close. Now I know the UFC has had some cans fight for them before (cough Jason Tan cough) but I think you know what I mean. And that really derives for the the UFC not scouting there talent like they use to and just holding tryouts. Which has obviously diminished the talent level.

And it wasn't like the third episode was so horrible it turned me off it was that it quickly became evident that the season was falling in line with the same old format of the past 6 seasons. Then it was just like ok I've seen this already and with better fighters no less.

Yep, and that's a sad, sad thing.

I for one am getting tired of all the drunken madness on the show. Can't someone create a show that's about the fighters and their abilities and not about some fucking idiot destroying a mansion they should thank their lucky stars they get to stay in for 6 weeks and train with some of the best in the world.

I wish they would change the format to something like the TAPOUT show. You've got the TAPOUT guys there for the entertainment but the focus of the show is the training of the fighters and showcasing their talents. The episode with Charuto Verissimo and BJ Penn beats anything that TUF has ever produced.

Also thanks for sharing your opinion on something you admittly didnt watch. Kinda of tough to judge the season fairly based on a couple of episodes and what you heard isn't it?

Just a few weeks ago everyone was talking about how much this season sucks, now everyone's saying best or 2nd best.

The last 2 episodes were phenomenal but the season as a whole was a stinker. Evident of this is how few guys were invited back for the finale.

I don't think Forrest or Rampage had anything to do with the success or failures of the fighters this season. Rampage and Forrest didn't do much in the way of coaching. Forrest was telling his guys at one point to just lay there and finish the round.

With all that said, I had very high expectations when this season was announced but was very disappointing. Rampage and Forrest were the only saving graces with their comedic relief and their camera time was few and far between. And as the Forrest moved on, Forrest was less and less the character he had become to be known as.

If they can't do it better with TUF 8, it may be time to change up the format if they intend on moving forward.
