Why's it so hard to believe that a guy doesn't feel like working his balls off 24/7 training for fights and getting punched in the face all day anymore?

With all the Silva retirement talk lately, I've noticed that everyone keeps saying 'But he's so young' and 'He'll be back', but despite what it seems you all think not everybody feels like fighting forever. I don't know if anybody's noticed at all but MMA is incredibly draining work.

If he's financially set, and he doesn't have the fire in him anymore, why do it? As a fan I'm sad to hear this, but at the same time I'm happy for both Mayhem and Silva that they're in a position that they can retire so young and begin living their lives the way they want to, if that's what they want to do.

He probably just needs a break. Hopefully he'll be back after a year.

I hope to see him back sooner than later, Mayhem is good dude and is always fun to watch. If he decides to retire for good, then I'm sure he'll become an on air personality for one of the MMA Orgs.

lame. he's still young and improving. he could easily be champ in almost any org in the world, with the exception of the ufc middleweight division because i dont think he could take anderson. but i'd love a rematch with gsp if he got on a good roll. i really doubt he will be retired for more then a year or two.
