I don't think most people hate Brock because he is a former pro-wrestler, I think they don't like his personality.

I'm not sure if you're saying that that fight was an anomoly and was only stood up because lesnar is so big, but if you are, you're missing the point.

He was told the rules. He dropped Mir with a punch. He started flailing without any vestige of technique and hit the back of Mir's head. He was warned by Mazzagati. He continued to flail and hit him directly in the back of the several more times after the warning. The fight was then justifiably halted and stood up.

If you're saying that any fighter who repeatedly strikes the back of a fighter's head without any regard to their opponent's safety should have the fight halted and a point deducted, then you are correct.

If you're saying anything else, you're a fucking moron.

The problem here is the same rules should apply to all fighters who get hit in the back of the head regardless of the size of their opponent. Lesnar would have won that fight had it continued. Anyone who disagrees as Riv stated is probably a "fucking moron".

...there was a gif posted here with sound immediately after the fight. Not only can you hear Maz give the warning, you can see lesnar give 3+ additional shots to the back of Mir's head after it.

While I actually think lesnar is 50/50 to win the rematch, catagorically, anyone who thinks that first fight shouldn't have been stood up is a fucking moron. I don't hate lesnar, I don't think he doesn't deserve to stand among the elite HW's of the UFC--for whatever that is worth--and I could care less what he did for a living before he turned to MMA. But it was a good standup.

If lesnar hit half as hard as his fans think he does, he could have killed Mir with even one shot to the back of his head, and then MMA would be absolutely fucked. So either we're lucky that he doesn't, or we're just plain lucky, but nobody should ever be allowed to throw repeated shots to the back of anyone's head.

    I politely disagree...
I've stopped watching pro wrestling when I was about 14; so, I never saw the Lesnar era. When they first announced that he had signed a contract with the UFC, I had to ask my brother who the hell he was. I have nothing against a pro wrestler crossing over into MMA. I do, however, remember the deduction, and thinking it was justified. Lesnar knew way before the fight that you can't hit the back of the head. The referee isn't required to give any warnings, if he feels the foul is blatent or intentional. Mazagatti said, after the fight, that he did indeed give Brock warnings, though. Maybe I'm a dick; but, I'd have done the same thing. If there's a guy that huge and athletic pounding on the spinal/cranial joint, i'm stepping in. The LAST thing MMA needs is a main stream death from injury sustained in the cage. Mir was in trouble; but, it was because of illegal blows. I could take Lesnar in a fight if they let me bring a Taser or a bat, and gave me 2 or 3 warnings not to use it before stopping the action and deducting a point.

Im hoping to see veins bulge from Lesnar's forehead, face blood red, eyes watering and his resistence slowly reduce to a slow twitch as Mir holds on to a RNC. Meanwhile, UFC tv cuts to Mir's big tittied wife jumping up and down in the crowd.

You guys on here are so adament about Brock not being able to beat the top tier guys simply b/c you don't like him. He certainly isn't my fav. fighter, but I also think that he will beat Mir. The thing is everybody talks about how good Mir standup is b/c he stopped Nog. Ok...he stopped Nog but all Nog did the whole fight is just stand there right in front of him with no movement. He got hit with the same combination the whole fight. He didn't even bother to try to move any. He just stood there like a statue. Nog is still hell on the ground, but on his feet...that is a diff. story. Plus, the first fight between Lesnar and Mir was a joke. If the ref wouldnt have stopped that fight and stood them up for the blow to the back of the head (which there was no warning or anything, he just stood them up and deducted a point and I have never seen a ref do that before without at least 1 warning and most of the time 2-3) Lesnar would have ended that fight. Mir didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground when they stood them up. He was about to be done. Then the mistake came by Lesnar, and Mir took advantage. I think Mir is a great fighter. but Lesnar is just a freak of nature that will continue to win.

mir looked great against nog his standup was terrific. i think this time the standup game is going to be a different story. i think mir will get some punches in, but will not knock him out, lesnar has the biggest fucken head in mma!!!. i predict mir to win by submission rnd 2 . but then again if lesnar gets a good position on top he can finish it, but im still sticking with mir !!!!!
