If the hype is right BJ doesn't seem to be taking this lightly. He seems in shape also a little more humble with the prefight talk. Maybe he'll wait until it is closer to fight night. Diffently one to watch.

I think it's the same scenario that we just had when Alves fought GSP. Thiago was GSP's toughest test, and is going to be his hardest defense comparing to the Kampmann or Swick that he'll be fighting next. BJ is the king of the lightweights, always has been. Florian is the best contender out there, but he just doesn't measure up to the master. The master that he will NOT kill

Penn By tko in the 2nd I love ken-flo but this will be no different then stevenson and sherk I see bj just out boxing him and I don't think he will go to the ground with kenny cause he knows he's better on the feet.

if i was bj, i'd never fight in vegas again either and hopefully he wont have to with all the new locations on ufc's radar. i'd love to see him fight in indianapolis so i can see him live.

Very good point about Karo's scenerio. Rules are rules for a reason, but GSP is a poster boy for the UFC so I am sure Dana paid off the NSAC.

    .
Florian isnt as strong as GSP, so how could he gas and push Penn? Florian has to be one of the smallest frames out there in 155, but his footwork and positioning is very strong. This fight is sick, I hope it goes all five rounds for fight of the year honors!

Your right, BJ Penn owned Matt Hughes while Hughes was the best champion in the game.......... BJ Penn should have beat Hughes both times, instead it went down as 3 rounds Penn and 1 round Hughes overall.

as far as penn gassing, there isn't any reason to jump the gun and assume that as of yet. his match against sherk went a full three rounds of pretty intense striking before the flying knee from hell, and he showed no signs of slowing. since i see him being able to dictate where the fight goes stylistically, i don't think that conditioning will be a huge problem, especially since he isn't carrying a beanbag chair around his waist.

don't get me wrong, florian has proven himself to be a stellar fighter, but we haven't seen him against anyone top-tier yet, (save for his match with sherk, but he was a completely different fighter then, so i'm not going to look to that for guidance on this). meanwhile, bj has consistantly murdered everyone at lightweight, and only lost to the absolute cream of the crop at weightclasses higher than his natural one. he outstruck fucking lyoto for god's sake, gave gsp all he could handle the first time around, and beat matt hughes 1.95 times before his rib exploded. unless he really, really falls off the tracks, i think it is just his time.
I completely agree. The cardio shape he was in for the GSp fight and his other LW fights is completely different. At LW BJ does not have that extra weight which can only help his skill set. For the GSP fight he didn't need to cut weight. When you're walking around with an extra 15 to 20 lbs of course your body is going to respond and react differently, like moving slower or fatiguing faster. Like you said I think comparing his cardio in the GSP fight and his fights at LW is jumping the gun a bit. We will have to wait and see though.

This fight will NOT be finished.

It'll go all five, for a Ken Flo decision
