I agree that Cote got spiked, and their should of been a break in the action. That move should be illegal, just X is out,and avoid that whole issue.

UFC 121 Preview: Patrick Cote Talks Tom Lawlor
by Nick Thomas on Oct 19, 2010 1:21 PM EDT in UFC News

"I wanted a big fight right away and that's exactly what we had (with Alan Belcher). But when the fight started, it just hit me in my face -- ring rust does exist."

"You know I don't make rules, I fight and this is not my decision. But I think this (spiking an opponent) rule is not very clear. I think the forehead ... it's part of the head."

"(Tom Lawlor) is a gamer. He's not a very technical striker but he likes to stay on his feet and stay in the pocket and exchange. I always say I'm not scared of anyone in my weight class on my feet and I think I'll be more powerful, more technical. . . . I'm pretty sure he's going to try to put pressure on me and push me against the fence and try to wrestle me against the fence.

"If not, we're going to stay in the middle of the Octagon and exchange and somebody's going to sleep for sure. I'll win this fight and I'm going to start another streak after that."
