What I find funny is that we are only 3 days away from the event and FEG has not announced officially this match. WTF????

I personally just want to say that I am praying that Duffee beats Overeem. It would be the greatest way to go out of 2010.

    WAR DUFFEE!!!

there is literally nothing that doesn't play into dana's favor. if duffee wins, a second stringer UFC reject beat the champ of the biggest competition the UFC has. if he loses, well duh... he lost to AO, and it doesn't prove a thing if russow did it first. reminds me of when fedor fought sylvia, then arlovski... with the same line of rationalizations and reasoning applying.

all that being said... duffee seemed to be a dangerous kid... but what happens if overeem hits him in the face?

It would be easier for dana to just ignore the fight if AO wins, or to make [entirely accurate] comments about how pathetic it is that Coker's HW champion is avoiding making any effort to defend his belt against anyone credible and would rather chase another sham belt in Japan. If Duffee wins, he can just as easily dismiss AO [and by proxy, SF] as getting tooled by someone who couldn't compete at the B level in the UFC.

Regardless of the outcome, this is a win/win for dana's hype machine.

I think Schaub's a little better than that. Gonzaga was top 25 and Schaub beat him easily.

Duffee is a big dude...6"3 250-255lbs...he got power, very good technical standup, and good wrestling....PLUS, he trains outta GRUDGE with guys like Nate, Carwin, and coaches like Trevor Wittman...

I dont see Overeem having his way wit him the way he had with Rogers or every can before that...he will fight a guy who does have more skills, even with his inexperience, than all the cans Overeem has fought lately, plus like I mentioned, a guy coming from a great camp.
I also think that this match can be more competitive than many people think but IMO Overeem is going to win in the first round.
Duffee has good boxing but Overeem is the best striker in MMA, he is the champion of K1, the place where the best strikers in the world fight.
About his wrestling, well Overeem has a good ground game and I dont know if Duffee will take Down the Reem, Duffee is strong but the horse meat power is on another level.

I love this match up! Duffee was on his way to becoming a top contender in the UFC, he hit a little road bump with his loss, but he'd never been dominated and has excellent hands for MMA. I would love to see the new and "evolved" version of Todd Duffee and what he could do when stepping up to world class competition. BTW Overreem is in the top 10 of HW fighters, maybe not overall top ten, but he's very close. The guy is a monster who's been tearing up world class strikers and his counter wrestling reminds me of Chuck Liddell back in his hayday. I think Overreem can beat any UFC fighter in the heavyweight division right now, including Cain. Of course barring getting signed by the UFC, Dana is more than content to just talk shit and not take the risk of a "champion vs champion" fight. Cause at the end of the day, even Dana knows that anything can happen in MMA.
