As others have said, what is he supposed to say?

'These guys both pretty much suck, and would be fringe fighters in the UFC at best - now let's watch them fight?'

That's not really building a fight.

I'm also surprised they haven't snapped up Bas as he's always good value.

lmfao I dont get why Tarec Saffiedine is considered one of the best ''Pure Strikers" in mma when the kid has 1 KO/tko in 13 bouts.

Usually when rogan talks about someones strengths or credentials he's not to far off

Miletich frequently overstates the qualities of the fighters. Friday night's main event fighter Tyron Woodley is, according to Miletich, "the best athlete, all-around athlete, to get into MMA," and "not the No. 1 fighter in the world yet, but he's quickly rising." Woodley's opponent, Tarec Saffiedine, is "one of the absolute best pure strikers in the sport of MMA."
Ummm......sounds like the author is the one drinking the Kool-Aid here.

How about "The Michael Jordan of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu" and "Brock Lesnar is the baddest man on the planet." and don't even get me started on some of the SHIT Dana White has said during broadcasts.

I feel that Pat's one of the most articulate and concise play-by-play men in MMA and personally feel he's more even-keeled, grounded and basically far less "off the handle" than Joe Rogan(who loses his shit when somebody "gets rocked" or has a choke "in deep") and it he carries himself with a more earnest seriousness which I really appreciate and personally enjoy.....with that being said however, Pat also suffers from Tony Schiavone-itus, in which he completely buys into the product, overselling this shit out of the product and its fighters and loses sight of his own personal credibility as an independent MMA personality, who should respond with a more open-minded and genuinely honest approach and in doing so, he loses a good amount of his "street cred", because he's not being upfront with what a guy at his level of knowledge, experience and general MMA intelligence really knows/feels/believes etc and it's disappointing.

For my money, I believe that for pure talent and quality of commentary, I'll take Miletich and Quadros on the stick, with Rogan a somewhat distant second.

Both Mauro and Schiavello suffer from too much of a Jim Ross, pro wrestling oversell with the yelling and the OMG moments and they get into too many allusions, catchphrases, quirky jokes and kayfabe-like mumbojumbo that has little to no place in MMA, they try too hard sometimes to be standup comedians and it drives me nuts!

Goldy does well for his position in the ZUFFA family and I appreciate his efforts, but I could live without him and both Bas and Trigg for me are a little too out of it to be consistent announcers and then there's Frank Shamrock, who is always on another planet and is dumber than a sack of doorknobs(see, that's the type of prowrestling analogy that kills MMA broadcasts!!!). Mayhem's voice is WAAAY too deep for my liking too.

I DO however really enjoy Guy Mezger and feel he's even headed and well spoken enough to do a great job with the HDnet shows sometimes, but I think Pat is usually the "colour "best fight announcer.
