I think this kid has all the tools to be maybe the best ever someday
Meh, that's innocent enough for me. Jones' hype compared to what he has accomplished is better than many other fighters out there. Doesn't mean he's not over-hyped because he definitely is. I'm not a fan of his personality, but he puts on exciting fights every time he gets into the octagon so I will watch all of his fights and that's why I don't have a problem with all the praise.

Jones as the best ever? Jeez, talk about premature. Remember when we heard about the Machida era when he won the title and people were talking about him keeping the title for years and how he may surpass Fedor one day. Well right after, he won controversially against Shogun in the first fight (where I was one of the people who thought Shogun won, but I don't want to start that debate), then got KO'ed by Shogun in their second fight, and then lost to rampage (albeit controversially, but let's call it even for the first Shogun fight). Now, he's in a must-win situation against Randy or he'll have 3 losses in a row.

It's way too premature to think that Jones is going to be the best ever. Sure, he has great tools but there's a lot that hasn't been answered. He hasn't really gotten tagged, we don't know how he is off his back, no one has gone for submissions against him, and we don't know much about his cardio either (against Bonnar, he gassed in the 3rd round and lost that round). Shogun is very active off his back and he is a great striker so hopefully two of those questions will be answered. If it goes the distance, three of the questions will be answered.

I'm cheering for Shogun all the way!!

He actually was winning against Shogun before he got KTFO....he had 2 takedowns and effective striking. Atleast imo he did.

I think shogun is gonna show jones the true meaning of unorthodox. Bones is good, shogun when he's healthy is on another level. Bones may very well be a champ one day, but its not this time. Much more interesting fight then rashaad evans though.

UFC capitalizing on a hype train it created themselves??? No way.

Many people "deserve" title shots over others but that doesn't mean shit. UFC picks who they want based on the most money they can make. Big shocker I know.

Yeah, every time I see Jones walk into the octagon, I cringe and hope he doesn't break his limbs ala Corey Hill.

I know everybody is excited, and the Bones hype train is at an all-time high, but people have to remember that all we know about this guy is that he is really really good against wrestlers. The best fight we have for judging him against someone with good striking is Vera, which didn't show us anything about that, and Bonnar, who's nowhere close to Shogun's level.
If he tries to take this fight to the ground, he hasn't fought anyone with BJJ like Shoguns either. The closest he has come would probably be Gusmao. All I'm saying is there is alot of hype around Jones when he is still surrounded by alot more questions than answers, and Shogun is a different kind of beast than the guys Jones has fought.

Slight edge in round 2? That's like saying Machida was winning against Shogun before he got KTFO.

Ok,first off. But the article in quotes, your going to get in shit from the mods, put it in quotes anytime you post a article on these board.

Secondly,Griffin deserved this fight way more then Jones does. Not only is he a ex-lhw champion, he beat Rua before. His last two victories are over ex-champions,and he showed a new part of his game, with taking Rich down, and using his size and strength advantage over Ace. Jones' biggest win was against Bader, I also dont think he is ready, his striking is still not that good, and that flashy stuff he does, will just get him hurt against Rua.

    War Shogun!!!!
