Aldo may be in for the surprise of his life. Edgar is very capable of defeating anyone in whatever weight class he is fighting in, and Aldo is, by all means, no exception.

It baffles me to this day that Edgar is still under rated. The guy's last 6 fights have been absolutely epic. If he is not beating the very best in the world, he is certainly taking them into very deep waters.

I am a huge Edgar fan - the guy is the epitome of what a MMA fighter should be.

I would like to see, and believe he deserves an immediate title shot against Aldo. I would love to see him hold the belt in another weight class, and join the very few that have been able to accomplish that.

Round 1 to 4 wasn't even close for Hominick. Aldo clearly won all those rounds.

Well since the point was about taking down Aldo, I'll go on to that. The problem isn't just taking Aldo down, it's keeping him down. Mendes actually was able to get a takedown for a second just like Florian but Aldo pops right back up. In the 5th round against Hominick, it was a different story as he gassed but he was coming off an injury and had a hard weight cut.

With that being said, Frankie does pose some interesting problems for Aldo given his smooth transitions between striking and grappling. However, if Frankie takes his time to set up the transitions, he will start eating those leg kicks which will severely hinder his mobility. From there, it's all downhill. Aldo's leg kicks are a bad matchup for any wrestler in my opinion. They are hard to catch and when they land, they do immense amounts of damage.

Looks like this fight may happen pretty soon. On UFC Tonight, they announced Frankie is in fact moving to FW.

Id take Aldo by tko or UD...

Edgar would pose a very big wrestling threat to him... he has very good transitions and quick takedowns... but Frankie's stick and move standup would not be so effective against Also and his quick leg kicks. Frankie would be flustered fighting someone faster than him.

Id like to see this fight at FW or LW. I dont see Aldo sticking around too long at 145, he will move up and look for bigger fights at LW.
