Would you still be able to properly defend take downs from a great wrestler like Matt Hammil? How about trading punches, and having the leg movement, to skillfully do so?

My point being... Matyushenko is 41, well past his prime in sports terms, and 26-6 in MMA, during his 15 year career. With that many years of experience, and that kind of record, I don't see him as the type to pussy out of a fight, just because he's "hurt".
i agree with you, my comments are just a fans agony over cancelled fights all of them over the course of 2012, like hoss said this could be a career ending injury as a life long knicks fan it reminds me of patrick ewing getting the bookend from basically the same injury even if you do come back you rarely are the same again, 10-15 years ago 99% would not come back from this injury it takes a lifetime for that tiny tendon to strengthen and even then it hardly has much to cling to

A torn achilles is possible to recover from but he will not be fighting for at least a year, if he gets surgery immediately.

Retirement would be best.... if he is financially set.

Back on topic, I think this injury will (effectively) be the end of The Janitor's career. It's not like he had a ton left to begin with, but coming back from a torn achilles at 41-42 years old? Best of luck to him with his recovery.

To be honest, this is probably a career ending injury for him...
