I dont care how "good of a striker" ppl claim Mousasi is, he wouldnt touch Silva (pun intended)

^This....i mean the dude couldnt finish Keith Jardine, yet people think he is going to walk through all of the top MW in the UFC. Give him any of the top 5-7 MW in the UFC and IMO he loses 80% or more of those fights

A lot of wins in Japan against some decent and some not so great opponents coupled with him not fighting on a frequent basis keeps the hype going. If he starts fighting top talent on a regular basis we will see where he really is at.

Mousasi has some sick striking but like fedorlei, I rather him at mw. Wrestling is too good among the top 5 lhw fighters. Only dude I'd honestly give a chance at, is shogun. Shogun needs to retire if he performs how he's been doing recently, he should retire. If you're no longer hungry, hang em up. Shogun was one of my favorites if not my most favorite fighter but he's depressing to watch now.

Mousasi is a monster at mw, I would love to see a stand up battle with him and Silva.

So if he hasn't done that yet, what makes you think he'll be able to do it now?
His priority has been the striking and submissions. He got very good at it and now he should focus much more in his wrestling. If he hires a good wrestling coach, goes to a good camp and trains very hard, why he would not be able to get a good TDD?

I believe him, but then again I'm a huge Mousasi fan, I've bought into him for years and while I'd much rather prefer him fighting at MW and always have concerns about his TDD, I believe he is a top 5 LHW as we speak and only has trouble against the tops of the division(which for me is Jones/Machida/Evans/Glover).

Mousasi/Vera is the fight I'd want them to debut Gegard if he ever comes to the UFC(dunno, but I have a hinky feeling he's signed to Showtime...)and show the fans how hard he can go.
