It's no coincidence that most champions are pretty big for their weightclass, Diaz is going to have to work on his clinch game and add a bit more strength if he ever wants to be champ...maybe also just do leg presses a shitload since Henderson's are twice as big as his lol
Size wasn't the issue in this fight. Diaz came in touted as having the best boxing south of Anderson and a 9" length advantage in this bout, and got schooled from wire to wire.

I'm not a big fan over oversized fighters. I'm dead-set against Dolce and 20lb+ weight cuts. I'm firmly in favor of same-day weigh ins.

Diaz was outskilled and outworked...it wasn't just size.

People shouldn't be shitting on Diaz. He had his eye closed for him in the first round. It was really over from there, but he went the distance based on heart.

Before the bouts, I'd assumed Penn was just too small to beat GSPJr, and was hoping he'd drop back to LW after a game-but-unsuccessful showing [which didn't happen, obviously]. As a Penn fan, I have zero desire to see him face Henderson.

Don't you know that God is everywhere and can be all things to all people and surely has time to devote to everyone especially dying kids and MMA fighters.

I've always personally wondered do the athletes feel god/jesus is responsible for when they lose to ? especially by a brutal ko ?

Jack Slack talks about the similarities in the Diaz brothers' and Penn's narrow, almost side-on stance, and about the strengths and weaknesses of it. You gain length and snap on the jab along with presenting a smaller profile to head strikes, but it makes you vulnerable to outside low kicks.

Not taking nothing from Bendo, but all athletes have a bad night too, plus Bendo had a great night at the same time.
Nothing against Nate or Nick because they have really solid skills and really excel in a couple areas but their ability to vary their gameplan is pretty limited. They have great boxing which sometimes allows them to transition into subs and they don't have a lot more then that. If the boxing fails and the opponent has good sub defense they are in trouble.

I was very impressed with Bendo's performance last night... There are guys at LW that can beat Nate, but not like Ben did...

He landed some very powerful leg kicks, dropped him twice and manhandled him in the clinch...

I could see someone like Edgar pulling out a UD against Diaz(even though Nate would be a tougher stylistic matchup for him, than Diaz was for Ben) but it certainly would not look that way... Frankie cannot generate that type of power in his kicks or takedowns... It would have been another stick and move gameplan mixed in with a few surprise takedowns, doing minimal damage.

I like Ben a lot... Always brings it and his decision wins are usually exciting fights... He may not be the finisher that Anderson, Jones, Aldo, JDS are but is an exciting fighter.... certainly more so than Edgar.
