saying matt hughes is better than gsp is like saying boris becker is better than andre agassi. or maury povich is better than jerry springer. two guys that are in the same field and are at the top, but one guy's a little bit younger and better.

hughes has a better legacy because he has been longer on the ufc and fought some good guys and some really crapy guys thats why he was champion for a long time
but the better fighter is GSP. faster, stronger, younger and he allready owned hughes and hes gona do it again on december 29.

GSP is 26...
Matt Hughes is what...34?
how the hell can you expect someone to be considered the greatest ever at 26
gsp has beat just as impressive opponents as hughes, he just needs to beat him at 79
and then defend the title 5-6 times without losing it
and no, matt hughes is not better, especially right now.

GSP dominated Matt Hughes in that last fight twice as hard as Hughes even hoped for in the first.

It really doesn't matter because neither can take BJ Penn
sorry...I had to change the tone a bit. This thread is getting stale.

i would like to point out to everyone that gsp said he was already training and doing everything he needed to( other then a change in his diet) before he got the call, so when hughes wins, no one is gonna use the excuse about him only having a month right?(though i know he'll use it himself)

Pointless useless, over done thread. U gotta love the guys who say "for all the GSP nuthuggers" then go on and make a thread about how great Hughes is, claiming that they are not in fact a Hughes nuthugger. I never heard anybody compare careers or legacies before either. Its also pathetic to pick 2 fights of your choice and then compare the fighters using those fights. Thats like me saying "GSP is clearly better because he TKO'd Sherk, and Hughes lost to Penn in 2004 so that makes him much better"
