I just visited my parents this past weekend, and got to watch UFC 78. One thing I noticed is that none of the regular refs were there - no Big John, no Steve Mazzagatti, no Herb Dean..........anyone know what the deal was there? Are they on strike?!?!?!?

ya i heard rumors about that before 78 and i didnt beleive it. but hey it was true. dunno what it was all about but, very very strange.

There were threads about this a while ago. They just used refs from NJ, thats all.
And IMO, did better than most of the usual refs.

And IMO, did better than most of the usual refs. | I couldn't agree more. The NJ refs were much better at keeping the action moving. I feel like the usual refs ie: Big John, Herb, Mazzagatti etc were turning into a monopoly. They are great, but always nice to see some new faces in there
