I think you are completely wrong as to what Hughes was eluding too.....the comment had nothing to do with Hughes/Serra....it was about Serra's guys winning most of the prelim fights......"it's not about who wins in the begining (prelims), but about who wins in the end (semi's and finals)

Yeah I completely agree with you there, I don't see how that would elude to his Serra battle, he was clearly saying that even though Serra's team completely dominated the earlier rounds of the tournament but both Hughes guys are in the finals.

Also, Rashad's showboating was WAY different than calling his team in to celebrate their mates' victory... I mean common, Speer was the huge underdog coming into that fight, they even said on the show that George was who everybody thought was most likely to win and Danzig said on the show he thought George had the most skill other than himself.

I never really liked Matt Hughes before but the more I watch of him the more I realize, yeah sure he CAN be a dick but most of the time he's not... Occasionally he says somethings that make me wonder (the whole saying he's all giving and likes to help people and he'd be the queen and working in a soup kitchen if he wasn't an MMA fighter that just sounds like he's begging to be loved to me) but I just think he's way over-hated. Also as an MMA fighter I totally respect his legacy and accomplishments.

Oh jeez, I just gave him credit openly on this forum! HA! Better stop while I'm ahead lol

Someone has to start using the picture of Matt Hughes with that shit eating grin he wore 10 seconds before he got knocked out in the GSP fight.

I will always see that pic when I think of Hughes, he looked hilarious smiling after getting pummeled then bam hes down.

He was cocky as shit in that fight too...

Personally, I wasnt offended when Hughes waved the guys in. It was a big win for Tommy and to be honest, after George was a total prick earlier in the season, I was glad to see Tommy score a huge win, especially over George. I do see, however, what Chungt was saying. Who's to say though whether or not Hughes was referring to "who wins in the end" meaning Hughes beat Serra as a coach or Team Hughes beating Team Serra? Im no huge Matt Hughes fan, but between Hughes' egotistical attitude like Serra has no business being champ and Serra's at-times over the top disrespect for Hughes, neither is known to take the high road. But I feel like Serra is a more caring coach than Hughes. With Serra, it seems like there is mutual loyalty between him and his guys. You just dont get that with Hughes. Hughes seems stand-offish even with his own guys and unapproachable. That may be one of the reason that Hughes is so often picked apart. But then again, who f*cking knows?
