Yeah, IMO it's about the fighters not the orgs. Any fighter can have success or failure from transitioning from one org to the other but it also has a lot to do with how well they can adapt to the rules.

i wasnt ever into the pride>ufc or the other way around, i just wanted to see dream fights. dont think that i put this to bash pride fans, im a pride fans, i just always though that this was funny and entertaining. its just funny to see the ufc bashers-pride nutthuggers get a big blow like this, because it there were way more ufc sucks-pride>ufc then the other way around, it just never ended. hopefully people will realize that different fighters styles match up differently with eachother and just sit back and watch all of the dream fights.

I'm so glad they made this section so we are not subjected to this shit anymore on the main boards...

MMA ignorance at it's finest. | Palma, we're watching this area very closely now and are making a serious effort to help develop new members and weed out the obvious trolls very early on. The new report a post feature allows you guys to let us know if we miss something. I think as a community we do a pretty good job of keeping everything in check.

the only reason i liked Pride as an org. is because of the fighters and the rules they had. not to mention i prefer the the ring over the cage. all of the Pride guys coming over to the UFC will be good in due time. say what you want but it is a whole different scenario fighting in a ring and then coming in and fighting in a cage. they will need some time to adjust to the new rules and new octagon. WAR SHOGUN, WAND, and CRO COP.

My theory is that part of the reason PRIDE appeared to be so much better is because of the rules and the ora that PRIDE has as, basically being Vale Tudo with tiny gloves (with a few exceptions). Shit yeah it was fun to watch some of the bigger stars beat up on small Japanese guys, but comparing PRIDE to UFC was like comparing apples to oranges. The fights were admittedly more exciting on average than UFC, at least in PRIDE's last half (5 yrs).
Now that the majority of PRIDE fighters are coming into the UFC and stinking up the joint, you know that unfamiliarity with the cage and the UFC in general has SOMETHING to do with it. But that cannot be everything. PRIDE fighters are generally overrated. Put that back in a ring with less rules (except the elbows) and judge the fights on finishing the fight and not a point system like boxing, give yellow cards, they would be beating the fuck out of eachother.
R.I.P. PRIDE and it's rules. US sanctioning bodies will never allow what we really want to see. |
remember ufc guys came over to pride and got their arses kicked as well....maybe or possibly its the change in arena and atmosphere...it could also be their rules.Id say Liddell and wand can beat each other in their respective arena.
