just once a year. venue --> rose bowl seating capacity about 100 000 i think, the pro wrestling really took off after wrestlemania , with their glitz
and glamor that even my grand ma knew who ricky steamboat was after
main event = couture vs. fedor ( winner take all , loser nothing)
purse 2 million
open 4 man tournament to start off the show with finals precluding the main event , winner challenges winner of couture /fedor to hype the ensuing fight.
kimbo vs. bj penn
k1 rules mirko cro cop vs. mark hunt
no ground game - mike tyson vs. chuck liddel
bob sapp vs. brock lesnar
bj penn vs. kimbo
gsp vs. silva catch weight 180
ken shamrock vs. frank shamrock
dream match up bas rutten ( he tapes up his knees vs. rickson gracie)

i think ufc should do this .

WTF are you on? I rarely read n00b Jack and this is exactly why.

Lets see how many problems are there with your idea:
Randy/Fedor for winner take all - yeah neither fighter will agree to that. Also neither fighter will fight in the UFC.
Kimbo vs Penn? You only put that there because of the Dana/Shaw comments. Again, Kimbo is not in the UFC
K1 Rules? This is the UFC and it is about MMA, not K1. F that. Oh and like previously mentioned, not under contract
Sapp is not under contract, nor could he make weight
Penn vs Kimbo - didn't we go over this already?
GSP/Silva would be nice
Shamrocks fighting each other wouldbe nice but again not under contract
Bas vs Gracie - see above.
Oh and lets not forget the tournament won't pass an athletic commission unless rules are changed

Now for argument's sake lets say the UFC does decide to do a "Wresetlemania" type even where its all the big stars - Why isn't there Liddell or Hughes or any of the other top guys on your list? And by top I mean POPULAR.

yeah unless ur joking bro its not a very good card at all u have there. Ideally a "wrestlemania" or "superbowl" of mma would basically be what afflictions doing now, bottom to top, name brand all-star fighters. Most of those fights would be main events on most cards.

I like the idea of one Huge card a year where most of the top talent fights. That card is fucking ridiculous though. The only one that makes sense for the UFC to put on is Silva/GSP. Penn/Kimbo? For that to work Penn would have to baloon up and Kimbo would have to cut mad weight. Even if they could make the 205 weight bracket (only one possible) I wouldn't to see Penn, or Kimbo for that matter, in a freakshow match. I would rather see the top talent fight. Nog/AA, Machida/Rampage, Shogun/Liddell, Wandy/A.Silva, Penn/GSP, Hendo/Franklin etc.
