Its a sad day for the Filipinos as Vera is starting getting his Popularity in the Philippines, I really believe it's a premature stoppage, Rogan and the crowd says it all...Kimbo ate 20 clean shots while at the bottom and Dan Margliotta didnt stopped it, while brandon had just ate 3 to 4 clean shots and covered his head very well, but Dan stopped it?? I mean Whoa! Dan is very inconsistent ref...Wake up call to all Orgs to implement strict guidlines on how their Ref should conduct consistent calls

vera was in a hard spot. is hard to be in that position and intelligently defend yourself and not look like a turtle so its always a tuffy to call. i think he was okay and would have let the round finish up. tough break for vera though, at least with the weak heavyweight division he cant get set back much further.

i personally have had enough of that ref.

Personally, I don't see how you can compare Thompson's mount and Werdum's

Inconsistant reffing ........maybe, but I would expect the ref to use his judgement in every situation not letting it go b/c of a fight from last week

I still say it was a justified stoppage, Vera even said he wasn't getting out of it (with 20 seconds left), so ask yourself:

when has a ref ever allowed someone to take 40 seconds of damage when there's no chance of escape??

(btw, Thompson's 'Patty Cake' GnP doesn't count)

You say Patty Cake GnP other people feel Kimbo got his ass whooped in the corner of the cage.

I don't think the fact that one fighter being Thompson and the other being Fabricio negates the fact that the ref is suspect and that it maybe a bullshit call on the ref's part.
