Default marvin eastman???
with all the recent roster cuts, the name that stands out as a WTF is marvin eastman. the guy has one win in the ufc and it went to a decision against terry martin. he's not exciting, he's not that good, why is he still there? can anyone shed some light as to why he hasn't been cut?

If you dont know who Marvin " The Beastman" Eastman is then you need to do your homework. Go look at his Wikipedia for starters. He is an aged fighter but the man is a soldier win or lose.

i was talkin about the ufc, yeah he's a good fighter all around but he can't stay in the win column in the ufc and they're cutting talent that's deeper than he possess.He might be able to fight somewhere else and be successful, but the ufc is open about the fact they want the best and winners but he can't seem to win against the calibur of fighter in the ufc.

In his first fight they put him in with rampage. Talk about getting thrown to the wolves. then he beat terry martin who is no slouch. Then got kod by Mcfedries who hits like tyson in his prime. The UFC likes him because he will stand and bang. That was probably his last fight on his contract.

i remember thinking they're nuts for thinking he would ruin rampages ufc debut. and you are right they don't give him easy fights, it's like they play favorites with some people to bolster a record (huerta comes to mind). i just thought you needed to win a few fights to hang around the ufc. i mean before wandy beat jardine alot of people were speculating him to be cut which is insanity? so how would marvin still be there if wandy was on the bubble?

fairly simple Wandy gets paids hundreds of thousands per fight eastman makes 8 grand

i cant say for sure but the reasons i think they keep him around,is he is willing to fight for less money,he likes to bang and most of the time does put on a decent show.he doesnt run like kalib or try lay n pray which turns fans off.he is a pretty explosive guy that goes after it,given he is not as good as the top tier fighters,the ufc knows that most of the time he isnt gonna put on a boring fight.him being an older fighter some of the older fans that are tuning back in again know who he is,and they can use him as a feeler fight for newer talent
