Hey all,
I'm going to UFC 87, and it's my first live event. I have read on the forums that sometimes the fighters have autograph sessions and such. Would anybody know where I could find this information if it exists?

Also, being my first live event and all, does anybody have any suggestions that would make the event better? I dont have the best seats but will be taking binoculars, is there any other things I could do to enhance the experience?

I know, I know, it should be a blast just being there.

Go early, stupid early you’ll understand, maybe 4 or four hours, especially if you are going to the way-inns, which you should, where you can bring your big SLR with large zoom lens. I didn’t but saw other people doing, which gave me an idea for the main event.

I hope u got floor seats, lowest level, b/c that’s where I think you get the best chance to get pictures and signature.

Bring a small camera that takes good action pictures in low light. Fortunately at ufc 77 I drought two cameras, hoping to get my wife to work the small one and I would use the biggy. They did not let me bring in to the arena with it and couldn’t even bring in a bottle of water.

Bring a pad and pens. Everyone is so nice, every one of them. They will look you in the eye, shake your hand and pose with you while you hand the camera to a stranger.

I thought about binoculars as I have a pair that fits in a small pocket but didn’t as we were going with to cameras. Next time I'll bring it if and when we go again.

Here in Cincinnati the weigh-ins were at the same arena as the event and the time should be on UFC’s site. I got time and place info from the wife who thinks the fight-club-member-ship is worth it and she gets the info e-mail to her.


Oh, I’ll know you can find more info with search as I’ve seen threads like this before.

Again get there early, especially the way-inns, people from everywhere will be there.

Thanks, I will definitely try to get there early with a pen and paper. I do have a decent small camera i'll take, but unfortunately the seats aren't the best. I will also do some searching on the forums, the advice is appreciated.

Find out what hotels the fighters stay at and go hang out there, you will get the most pics and autographs that way just with them walking in and out of the hotel. They are all super nice, most come down to interact with the fans and pose and whatnot.

Go to the weighins early, get up front (dont forget to print off your barcode from the website) unless your not a fighclub member then your screwed out of good seats for the weighins

Go to the fight club parties, lots of cool people to meet

and lastly, tell GSP congrats for me when he beats Fitch

Make a big ass sign out of neon colored poster board. Cut out fighter pictures and decoupage the poster board with it. Then make sure you have big puffy letters. This is a sure fire way to get shown on tv... then we can cap it, and make fun of you for it....

Oh wait just kidding. Seriously get there early and find the hotel the fighters are staying at. Try to sneak down to the lower level during the prelims because most people aren't there yet.

If you see Mandy Moore try to kiss her. Just ask her, see if she is willing. And if you are bringing your girl with - ask her to kiss Mandy Moore...

She's hot stuff.
Hell I'd ask her for a kiss if I was there and take a pic or hope it was caught on UFC camera to LIVE FOREVER!!

On a serious note though, i've never been to a live MMA event yet, seeing how I live in Canada and I don't get too many opportunities. Just have a blast, take lots of pics and then proceed to post them on this board afterward and we'll discuss. Haha.
