Affliction makes ripples heard across the MMA world once again. Not only has the newly found company teamed up with Golden boy promotions but they have yet another trick up their sleeve it seems. In comes Lesnar. After a huge win over The Texas Crazy Horse Heath Hearing and now a possible record breaking PPV title fight with Couture, it seems that Brock Lesnars MMA stock is on the rise. Lesnar was in talks over the phone with Affliction VP Tom Atencio earlier this evening. Lesnar was quoted in saying about the unofficial conference. "This is a great offer. When I first joined the UFC I wanted to fight the best." Lesnar boasted. "Once I beat Couture there are only 2 more fights that make sense for me in the UFC" (Probably aluding to a rematch with Frank Mir and a fight with current UFC interim champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira)
'I've been doing my homework and the majority of top Heavyweights are outside of the UFC" Lesnar added. "Affliction and DREAM both have endless fight possibilities that the fans want to see." Lesnar later on went saying how he was big in Japan back in his prowrestling days and would love to fight for the Japanese fans once again only this time in Mixed Martials Arts. Details about Lesnars current contract were also brought to light. He signed a 4 fight contract with Zuffa. The Couture fight would be his 3rd fight and usually after a fighter has one fight remaining on his current contract, Zuffa usually renogiates for a new contract to keep the fighter with the company.
Affliction had big plans for a Couture vs Fedor match up but since Couture returned to the UFC that terminated the future highly anticipated bout. It is said Affliction is offering Lesnar a fight against Fedor. (If he were to get past Couture of course) When Tom Atencio asked Lesnar what he thought about a fight with "The Russian Cyborg" Fedor Emelianenko Lesnar went on to say "I dont get the big deal behind this Fedor guy, but it seems if you want to be a legit heavyweight in the eyes of the hardcore fans, you gotta beat him and that's what i'm here to do".... Lesnar showed no fear as he was very confident he could defeat the virtually undefeated MMA giant.
Affliction went into even more details about the offer with Brock Lesnar. It would be a 2 fight, 3 million dollar deal + win bonuses. They also added they have designed a Brock Lesnar T shirt. A huge deal maker, that could possibly generate more than the guarenteed 3 million already signed on the contract. It is said that Lesnar is very happy with the design as it truly reflects himself as a person. The shirt should be hitting their stores sometime around mid November.
