A weird thread, but I'll roll with it. Quote:

Mainstream loves a heavyweight, always have, always will.
Brock:
From a promotional standpoint, Brock is the perfect choice for champ. He has the look, the cool big guy name and the attitude to go with it. He will certainly in my opinion continue to be even more contreversial once he feels he has truely proven himself. Brock is confident for Brock, but not cocky yet. In a perfect world for UFC Brock would never lose again. As we know, there is no perfect world for UFC or MMA for anyone. Even Anderson Sylva.
Anderson Sylva:
If he never loses again, he has already had his share of non-perfect days in his career. Another one may be this Saturday, since it is a pattern in MMA and boxing, that loses come when they are least expected. I don't think many people expected Chuck to lose twice in a row, moreso with the Jaridine loss, since that was the "comeback" fight, or Tyson to Douglas, or GSP to the Brooklyn Charlie Brown, or Kimbo to Seth, or Gina to the scales. I think 95% of the people are with Anderson Sylva on this fight, as am I, but, after the Leben/Bisping show, I am expecting/hoping that something jaw dropping will happen and not in the jaw dropping fashion (yawning) that UFC 89 brought about.
Thanks for reading, all opinions welcome, good or bad. | Well, while the you may want the HWs to go to the UFC, it isn't a great choice for them. That isn't where they need to go to fight most of the best fighters. Also, HW will never be as stacked as LHW because 205 has the entire top 10-15 fighters minus Rogerio and Arona. There isn't an over abundance of HWs in this sport for many reasons.
As for Brock, he is cocky, not confident. And his WWE like persona is not what I would call idea for MMA. In sports, people love a hero, not a villian. Well.. wait... let me put it this way "Hero < Villian < Super Hero (Legend in the making)". Humble, hardworking, etc. A guy who points and laughs, completely disrespecting the sport, his opponent, his team, and all other factors, is a jerk, and not a good face of the sport. Don't get me wrong, good guys and bad guys are needed for the fight game, but Brock should not be leading our sport.
In fact, I go on to say that Brock is a bad face for the sport when you think of how hard MMA is working to look civilized, legit, etc. as opposed to being viewed as cockfighting. Guys like Anderson Silva, Randy Couture, GSP, Fedor, etc. Those are the guys who need to continue to be the face of MMA.
I kind of lost what you were saying in the Silva/Cote logic. I don't think Anderson will lose to Cote, but I think this fight has all it needs for an upset, simply because Cote is a striker with a good chin and KO power. Anyone can get caught.
P.S. I didn't think Leben/Bisping was particularly boring.

Okay, thanks for all the "harsh" words, SORRY about the fucking mispelling of Anderson Silva.
Sorry some didn't get the "joke" about Gina making weight, thanks for admitting a sense of humor isn't in your DNA.
Sorry I posted 3 thoughts into one topic, I realize 3 is a high number for some slow peeps.
Sorry I like Brock.
NeoNatural, yes I made a thread about 3 things that have nothing to do with each other. It is obvious from the TITLE of the thread that, that is what you were going to see. Yet, you clicked it anyway. Go fuck yourself and your an asshole, that just MY opinion.
In my FIRST attempt at a post, I just wanted to share some opinions, calling me noob and attacking me for mispelling Silva is pretty fucking petty and lame. I don't recall seeing many so called fucking experts torn down for mispellings that I see on a daily basis. Noob? Bitch I was watching UFC 1 live. Go O.D. on your A.D.D meds.
My unreasonable opinions summed up for the slow peeps-
I want to see some new HW in UFC.
Brock would be a good face of UFC (due to how hated he could be, and his look)
Upsets happen when you don't expect them, thats why they are upsets. Cote would be an upset just like the examples I laid out, Gina comment being a joke. I can write it in crayon if that helps.
Ramma, thanks for giving a detailed nonabusive reply to such a scrambled-up-formatted post. It was pretty late. I just see Brock as the bad guy people will pay to see lose.
My cocky comment about Brock- I just think he is a lot more cocky than he has shown, I wasn't trying to say he isn't cocky. P.S. you are right, not boring, awkward is the word I'm looking for. Went back and watched today, I think I based my opinion of the show on how dissapointed I was that my picks didn't win and the way that they lost.

Sorry I like Brock. . | Nothing I posted was personal or "harsh", It kind of bugs me to see the most common name in mixed martial arts, which happens to be 5 letters long, spelled wrong. I'm not a grammar fanatic as you can tell, spelling the last name of a top P4P fighter and current UFC champ is different. Quote:

I wasn't watching UFC 1 live, but I do find it suspicious that everytime a person's knowledge is brought into question that is the first card they play, or how watching UFC 1 somehow gives someone an advantage in knowledge on these boards. Hell 90% of the people watching probably thought Royce was wearing his pajamas.
and "attempt" is a very good word to use when describing your first post Quote:

Did I not get the memo or was your paragraph just a waste of space?
I'm sure people would "hate" Vick as the face of PETA, doesn't mean it is a good idea.

In reference to post #1-Anderson Sylva or did you mean Sylvia? Ha,LOL Just fuckin' with ya' dude. I know you meant to type Silva. . . . . . . . .Damn I hope that isn't an omen that the Silva/Cote fight is going to be a sequel to one of Sylvia's boring ass dance-a-thons. After Bisping/Leben I don't think I could stand to watch another shadow boxing clinic. I doubt we'll have to worry about anything like that happening this Saturday night
