He was a replacement fighter at that. They had to take who they could get.

but if you remember, he went for shit on TUF to main event vs. Mike Russow... which I think he was a replacement for Jeff Monson if I remember correctly... either way, he may be a bad example, but there are many more examples.

Not every ex-UFC fighter is a has been or washed up fighter. Look where Silva and Rampage were when the UFC picked them up, a couple of ex pride guys that now doing great. I'd say most any organization would be ecstatic to have AA headline an event.

Some people are missing the point. Yet a few haven't. And CJRockstar may have used the wrong wording, such as hasbeen or washed-up to super fighter. Jason Guida is just being used an example. And whilst he may not be the best choice to be used for an example, the point CJ is makng, that it's quite ridiculous that some ex-UFC fighters, not all, are now in some way or another, big shit outside of the UFC. Only because of their former affliations with the UFC, they are even being put on these smaller shows in the main event or co-main event.

Imagine if Jason Guida didn't flop on TUF, do you actually think he would have been called up to replace Roided Ken Shamrock to face an up and comer such as Bobby Lashley? Do you actually think he would have even been considered to fight on said cards? I think not. He wasn't even scheduled to fight on either card that he was a last minute replacement on. The same could be said of other former ex-UFC fighters such as Jesse Taylor, etc etc, but I think that was CJ's point. And thats of course, in my opinion. I could be wrong here, but I'm leaning towards NOT being wrong here.

Good article. Although I suggest that next time, leave out "hasbeen" and "washed-up." Makes it sound quite bias, and like a WWE internet rumor, lol.

I don't see any issue with him starting threads like this. I enjoy reading posts like this because I find they bring out other opinions of similar topics and different examples. So if all you are going to do for fun is to read his so called "bitching" threads then maybe you should become someone as well.

But Jason Guida wasn't the Main Event - Bobby Lashley was.

And unless you are the UFC and greasing some pockets, you can't get a 1-0 fighter sanctioned to fight a guy with a decent win percentage and 20+ fights.

The only reason they were able to pull off Shamrock was because he has been so inactive for the past 5 years.
