Default Looking for martial arts info

Hi,

Not really a noob here, but kinda off topic question so I figured I'd post here.

I'm looking to enroll in a martial art. I'm not sure of what I'm interested in. I'm thinking Karate, Kung Fu, or BJJ. Any tips as to where to start?

I would definitely start at BJJ.

I've taken Tae Kwon Do for 5 years and have quit about 6 months after acquiring a 1st degree black belt. I feel like I've wasted a lot of time and money since I feel that the art is not very practical in a fight.

kicks sure are a good weapon to use in a fight but 5 years ? 'cmon; and how often am I going to use a butterfly kick or a jump spinning back kick ?

And now, I wish I could go out and take BJJ classes but I can barely afford tuition.

If you're still in highschool, join wrestling, I wish I did. FML.

Find a gym that has MMA classes a few times a week. For example, my buddy runs a BJJ and self defense studio. Twice a week he has MMA classes, and once a week he has guest coaches/fighters (sometimes boxing, sambo, BJJ) I suggest asking the if you can watch a class or speak with some people in classes to check out everything they teach, how many people.
