| The End of Affliction?
Now that the sudden Cluster F*ck of Affliction: Trilogy has been scrapped, I guess the next question is, "Is this the end of Affliction promoting fights"? This seems like a pretty big P.R. disaster, and even if they can pull off another card, will it matter in the long run? Thoughts?

Affliction is no longer credible.
It was good while it lasted.

This might be a bit radical but if UFC bought out the affliction fighters (and eventually strikeforce) I believe that Dana should be taken out of the picture. they should make strides to evolve as a business, and some of their tactics(mainly Dana and his grudges) have to be evaluated and changed b because they seem a bit immature for a huge business like themselves.

Their inability to find a suitable replacement only exposes the lack of depth in their roster.
They have the best in Fedor, but are otherwise lacking. The cancellation of the event only brings this fact into the spotlight for everyone to see, including potential sponsors and advertisers. Millions of dollars have been (will be) lost because of their failure to have some legitimate contenders in the organization. If one fighter's drug test failure brings down an entire PPV event for this company, sponsors will not be willing to take such a risk and invest again in the next one.
I think it's the end for Affliction. I see Dana making a major move to acquire Fedor now.

Doesn't Fedor have a contract for 1 more fight with Affliction?? It's not over yet!. I almost can't believe this is complete cancellation is true it's so absurd BUT if it is I think they will postpone it and it will still go ahead... maybe I'm just the fool here but I really think it will work out regardless. Everything is just fucked right now though!
p.s. - what happens if this 'B Sample' comes back negative... hahaha!

that's what i'm wondering. if the positive steroid test turns out to be a mishap, and barnett is cleared, what was gained from any of this?

Now we're at a crossroads. Fedor will either have to come to the UFC or get 1, maybe 2 fights a year against undeserving, unqualified fighters in various organizations. Now that Affliction is more than likely done, does Fedor need the UFC or does the UFC need Fedor? You know Attencio probably wants to pay to have Barnett killed after this fiasco. No way Strikeforce can afford Fedor.

I'm wondering what fedor's contract situation is like. I mean he fought twice and had one remaining fight, but he sign a contract for the third and by no fault of his own was unable to fight. DOes this void his third fight bc Affliction was unable to promote the third fight and have not lived up to their end of the contract?

If Fedor signs with another organization because his contract is void, then I would FOR SURE say goodbye to affliction. That was their biggest attraction and their building block. Fedor could also sign with M-1 or Dream. I think he likes that crowd better anyhow. But fingers crossed he signs UFC |
