I could keep going...... I honestly think BJ will walk away from MMA after this.
Since the NSAC rendered ther decission, the majority of MMANews posters have said BJ Penn will not be respected by his peers, and so on. The above quote are just one example of the many asinine comments made towards the current UFC Lightweight Champion. However, as we're just a few weeks away from UFC 101 where BJ Penn defends his title against top challenger Kenny Florian... HE'S STILL HERE! Further more, HE'S RESPECTED BY HIS PEERS! The Diaz brothers, Jake Sheilds, Uriah Faber, and so on have trained with BJ Penn since those comments were made. I had once or twice stated that those asinine comments were false and even stated that the fighters I personally know of had nothing bad to say of BJ Penn. I must have been telling the truth as seeing fighters that aren't from Hawaii had actually went to Hawaii to train with BJ Penn. That said, I end this by saying ignorant fans such as bluerinosg, tomper atencio, etc etc... have no fucking clue and are the definition of keyboard warrior. I also recall Sakara=Excitement making similar asinine comments, but he's a rather quality poster, so I have no harsh words for him. And oh, here's one more fighter that obviously respects BJ Penn and further proves some of you are just full of shite. Enjoy, tricks!

BJ Penn turned into a traitor to his very own sport and he did it in the whiniest, biggest punk of a way possible. Someone should ask Penn if he is going to fight Florian to the death before UFC 101 comes.

Ken Flo will get a huge ovation and I guarantee you will hear booing when Penn comes out.

I likE how bj gav gsp shit about tapping due to strikes, said you will never see me tap from strikes, then gave up in between rounds and wouldnt come out to finish the fight. Just my opinion but its close enough to be hypocritical. Hes just a cry baby. WHO CAN JUMP 3 FEET OUT OF A POOL!!!!

I never said I dont respect BJ or think he's the real deal. The problem that I had was the way he handled his loss. He opened his mouth real, real wide...then got his ass straight WHIPPED and then made excuses about it. To his credit, in recent interviews it sounds as if he's more accepting that he just got outclassed and outworked vs. GSP. BJ should have been more professional and I'd bet that even his peers mentioned in private that BJ was acting like a bitch after his loss. Statements like "to the death" and "if you tap to strikes, you're a bitch" sets you up for extreme public ridicule, which is exactly what happend (on here anyway). For me personally, talking before a fight is hype. If you keep talking after you lose, its usually excuses. I have no ill feelings towards BJ, I just think as a professional fighter that some hold as one of the greatest ever, he should have handled himself in a classier manner after losing to GSP.

You know it's sad we're still discussing this. BJ is one of the greatest of all time and #4 on my pound for pound list. His lost to GSP was tragic and a humbling experience that I don't think he was ready for. Their first fight was so close and BJ was out of shape not focused and just didn't care. Since that fight both fighters have improved greatly BJ became focused and took training seriously he got in shape and was really caring about his fights. So that loss was probably the worst of his career to date and a true blow to his Untouchable confidence. Did GSP's corner cheat? Yes inadvertent or not they did. Could it have played a roll in the outcome of the fight? Sure it could. Does wiping vasoline off with a towel remove it? No it doesn't it just smears it really and later sweat will spread it more. Did BJ have a valid complaint? Yes he did. Would he have won that fight if the vasoline wasn't there? No he still would of got dominated and controlled for the fight.

I LOVE how people dont say anything about it not being "Classy" to allow your corner man to grease you up, not like u cant feel vaseline being rubbed on your body.

bottom line, GSP could have worn steel toed boots for the fight and not thrown 1 kick, but it is still against the rules.

BJ would have got smashed anyways, so i dont care whether or not he gets the NSAC to overturn the decision, what i DO CARE ABOUT is GSP getting a free pass on greasing because people are too focused on what BJ is saying.

2 different situations here people! GSP was greased, there is video evidence, so how is he "Classy" and just gets away with cheating?

"Well BJ would have lost anyways, so it is ok to cheat and get the win quicker, GSP can do no wrong"..........that is what i am getting when i read most of your BJ bashing posts on this message board, seems all u agree that cheating is alright when your favorite fighter does it, so i guess u all feel Josh Barnett didnt do anythign wrong either? lol!.

I almost cannot read any BJ Penn thread anymore because of GSP nut hugging posters that can only say “To the death!”… “he’s a whiner”…or “he’ll get his mother.” Any relative discussion is overshadowed by this garbage and, although it should not, stupidity gets under my skin.
I challenge anyone to watch videos of Penn where he is not hyping a fight. Mostly, he seems to be a genuine guy that gives back to his community and cares about martial arts. The guy was hyping a fight that was the greatest super fight in mma history. He has stated that Dana White wanted him to be “Floyd” and GSP be “De La Hoya.” Did he say stupid things that I’m sure he regrets? Yes. However, he was hyping a fight and it clearly worked. I believe he has learned from this mistake and he has been very tame lately. I do not like many fighters. Still, I respect them and do not descend to rehashing every mistake they have made in their life. They are all human. Can we please discuss their fighting abilities and be intelligent enough to look past talk?

First of all I'd like to know how he became a traitor all of sudden? Those are pretty bold words.

Secondly I'm glad to see there's still some Penn supporters because nobody ever has anything good to say about him on here. Penn will prove to all that he is the greatest LW champion of all time. I agree that the GSP fight was disappointing to watch as a BJ fan. His reaction was also a little disappointing, but he did have valid reason to be upset. It wouldn't have changed the outcome whether or not GSP was greased, but he still has valid reason to be upset about it. That loss is only going to make him a better fighter. I feel sorry for the LW division.

I'm reppin everyone who had something good to say about Penn. it's about damn time.
