For anyone who hasnt or wants to watch it again:

Fedor Emelianenko Vs. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic Pride Video | MMA Root

I dont think anyone ever came close to giving him a harder fight then cro cop did in his prime form.

I gave the 1st round to Cro cop, 2nd to Fedor and the third fedor (though close) But it was a great strategy of ground and pound for the win on Fedors behalf. Cro cop looked to be gassing a lil.


did Cro cop break Fedors nose in that fight? Fedor was clearly troubled by his nose the whole remainder of the fight which even led him to be kicked in the face from the bottom while he was wipping blood away. Also how the hell Fedor doesnt break his hands punching the ring is beyond me

Fedor did pull out some pretty impresive leg kicks of his own and the sound of the punches by both men had intent written all over them. Great fight.

He had an injured hand in that fight or it could have been a lot worse for Cro Cop on the ground.

I was pretty disappointed with Mirkos performance to be honest, he seemed to lose his nerve less than half way through the fight when he saw he wasn't having any success on the feet and just basically survived for the rest of the fight.

The Arona fight was closer under the rules they fought in imo, and Fujita had him in the most danger out of all his fights. I thought this one was a pretty easy win really considering the hype, especially rounds 2 and 3.

One of my favs, but it looked a little like cro-cop vs hunt. both hunt & fedor took some hits but no damage,thats what keeped mirko back peddeling. wished they had rematch after the 1st meeting. or someone got finished off, either fedor tapping cro-cop out or fedor going down via head kick.

It was a very good fight, and Fedor himself have said many times that his toughest fights were against Nogueira and Mirko.

The first round was very very close, maybe Mirko was just a little bit better, but just a little bit.
The second and third round were clearly for Fedor.

Maybe I am wrong but I think that Fedor did not wanted to face Cro Cop, when Mirko challenged him, Fedor was not happy at all, then when Randleman and Nogueira beat Mirko, Fedor was very happy and clapping, but after the KO loss of Aleksander Fedor had no choice.

I think that in a rematch Fedor would win in the first round, Mirko is still very dangerous, but unfortunately he is note the same as he was 4 years ago.
