| Keith Jardine is not too smart
From his latest article on mmanews
“I’m working my way in through the back door. I haven’t been fed any (soft) opponents. I didn’t win the reality show. I’m just making my own way. I haven’t been mass marketed to anybody. That’s the thing. The marketing machine hasn’t really gotten behind me. I’m fine with it, but I just think that the Forrest Griffins and those guys, they’d rather have those guys have the title than me. They kind of let me go my own way a bit because I’m not out there craving attention and I’m not out there hamming it up for the fans.”
He forgot to add "By the way, check me out in Crank 2, out on DVD now!"

I love Jardine and respect the path he's taken and I gotta say, he's always a threat and always provides a solid, entertaining fight.
With that being said, he's never gotten a can fight and seriously has had a brutal fight roster of foes. IMO, he's always a legit contender and I'd be fine with Jardine always being in the mix.....

IMO Jardine is right. He has fought some top notch guys in this sport. His only poor showings was against Houson Alexander and Wandy. He was winning the fight with Jackson tell he got clipped in the last 15 seconds or so. I think he will grind out a decision win over Silva.

damn, i gotta say this just changed my opinion of jardine. imo it sounds a lot like he is crying. i mean come on...the marketing machine? dude, you've headlined many pay per views and have made a lot of money. it's not ufc's fault you lost to houston and got set back. it's not ufc's fault you lost to wandy and got set back. it's not their fault you lost to rampage and got set back. the reason you havent got a title shot is because you have failed to win TWO IN A ROW.

If Jardine could pull off a miracle this weekend and defeat Thiago Silva, it could set up the perfect rematch with Chuck Liddell. If Chuck ever came back, and it was anytime soon, the best matchup would be with Jardine and no one else!! I know its off topic but Chuck must want this fight too!!

Working your way through the back door doesn't sound too bad.
And beating Silva won't be a miracle, IMO.

Jardine would gain nothing by fighting Chuck Liddell, if Jardine wins he just beat a guy who has been KOd 3 time in his last 5 or so fights and if Jardine loses, he just lost to the guy who got KOd 3 time in his last 5 or so fights.

Jardine has always been on of my favorites. He is a great fighter and a very respectful guy.
