Vince McMahon Says WWE More Sophisticated Than MMA

"Vince McMahon, the man who made pro wrestling huge, talks to Mercury News about the comparisons between MMA and Pro Wrestling:
During the peak of what the company refers to as its "attitude era" a decade ago, the WWE's audience was dominated by young men. While its popularity has waned, the fan base has simultaneously grown older and younger with new constituencies, according to audience research. A little more than a third of its audience is female. The audience is ethnically more diverse that most shows: 62 percent of audience is white; 20 percent of the viewership is black and 23 percent is Hispanic - Hispanics were counted as both white and Hispanic. It's the most-watched English-language show on cable among Hispanics, the company said.
With the Ultimate Fighting Championship and mixed martial arts becoming more popular as competitors, it made little sense for the WWE to ramp up the attitude with violence and sexuality, McMahon said.
"You really can't compete with that," he said. "Why not deliver a more sophisticated product and not go to those extremes? If the audience wants those extremes, they know where to go and how to get it."
Going PG has helped the company draw advertisers who might have looked away before. Pepsi, 7-Eleven stores, Mattel toys and the Army National Guard are among the sponsors that have signed up since the shift, the company said".

McMahon is getting wacky in his old age on account of all the steroids and coke his body has consumed over the years. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN!!!
I've been a life long PRO WRESTLING FAN, so needless to say, I hate the current WWE product and went from a DIE HARD to somebody who passes by the websites once a week and only orders Wrestlemania with my brothers as is tradition, and even THAT is in limbo. They haven't developed new main eventers and have spiralled into redundancy on an excrutiating level. The Benoit massacre was the final nail in the coffin and aside from Taker and Orton, there's nobody with legit cred, since Michaels and HHH make dick jokes and don't put people over, Edge and Batista are always hurt and Jericho got fat and dull during his hiatus and Vinny has Cena out and about shooting movies. CM Punk might've won the "world title", but he's no main event DRAW, neither are Kingston or Henry, MVP, Miz or Ziggler, Rhodes etc and their only true hopes for the future are DiBiase and Morrison, with potential in Harry Smith and Joe Hennig. So basically, if they want to succeed five years from now, they're going to have to go raid TNA and steal Roode, Storm, Morgan, Styles and Joe, which probably won't happen because all of those guys are making too good money working a fifth of the dates!!!
I guarantee you that the true blood die hard wrestling fans have more in common with MMA than the current WWE product and that's a REALLY bad thing in the long term. Couple that with having creative being NON-WRESTLING PEOPLE in charge, a head of development who has hardons for bodybuilders and an abscence of a development system altogether, for all their's does is mere prime them for the main roster, rather than actually teaching and allowing them to mature and recognize the nuances of the business, so naturally any prospec that may have talent gets called up too early and bombs.
Endgame, WWE is a joke of itself and moreover, TNA isn't much better, even though they're on a better track, but that isn't much.
UFC is ruining WWE in PPVs and basically all avenues of marketing, ie, when was the last time Budweiser or Harley or Burger King sponsored WWE? WWE is a JOKE.

Sophisticated??
WWE is a fucking joke, a circus for little kids and teen girls that are in love with the likes of John Cena.
MMA is a real sport with real fighters, WWE is a circus with men that use setroids and just act like tough guys when in reality most of them would not last 1 minute against any top fighter in a real fight.
Most of those entertainers are extremely arrogant and many times they treat fans like trash, they think that they are extremely tough guys and everybody should treat them like gods.
Tickets for an event of WWE are extremely expensive, and many times you see some shitty boring show.
I have to admit that some years ago I was a fan of WWE, however years ago they had at least funny storylines, bloodbaths and the Divas were in tiny bikinis, now they are shit, they a circus for little kids.
The only thing that I like in WWE is The Undertaker, at least he is a very good entertainer, because almost all the others are awful.
In WWE they always do exactly the same things, they are very predictable.
I dont care what Vince McMahon says, MMA owns big time the WWE.

He actually said "you can't compete with that" I think they two different products and Vince I believe is trying to say that.
