I'm just tinkering around right now looking at the DREAM 12 card and from looking at James Thompson's record, I noticed Dan Severn and after looking at his record, I got to wondering....could he EVER return to the UFC???

At first, it may sound like a hysterically stupid and noobjack question but upon closer review, Severn's record hasn't really deminished over the years, even though his quality of opposition very well might have.

He's 51 years old, 90-16-7 and hasn't been stopped in a fight for nearly four years and even THEN, he's only been KO'd once in his entire career. Consider he's a UFC Hall of Famer and he's 19 and 3 since 2006 and the fact that UFC doesn't really have too deep a HW division and a "Return of the Beast" bout could easily be on a main card for a Fight Night and maybe a hometown card with some fan interest given nostalgia and his "legendary" status.... Crocop/Severn could at least give Mirko a nice send off and they could always do Severn/Coleman II, but my ideal here isn't to say he's a contender, rather that Severn could always keep the gate for a fight or two to test the guts of newcomers, but I think he may be capable of performing on a bigger stage.

I know some people consider Dan a little bit boring and he isn't the most aestheticlly pleasing fighter, but I think that they've got worse on their roster(Baroni) and my view is, why not???

The UFC doesn't need Dan Severin. Let the other lesser organizations use him to fill their rosters. The UFC doesn't dp sideshows, they don't need the novelty of a former champ @ 51 trying to fight. I think it deminishes the legitimacy of the UFC being the highest quality of competition in MMA you'll see. I felt the same way when I heard that Coleman was coming back.

If you've seen Severn fight in the last few years like I have you would realize he's there for an easy payday. I saw him fight Butterbean which was more scripted than a pro wrestling bout. I would get a kick out of seeing him fight in the ufc again.

Dan Severn cant come back because me and two of my friends ran a super rodeo gang bang on his neice mallory severn. im dead serious. it was awesome and hillarious at the same time. this was about 2 and half years ago when we both lived in lapeer michigan. here is her myspace if you dont believe me.
