| Shane McMahon meets with UFC Quote:
Source: The Wrestling Observer
We can confirm that Shane McMahon had a meeting at the UFC/Zuffa offices around a week ago.
When asked about this, UFC President Dana White said "no comment."
McMahon, who was Executive Vice President of Global Media for WWE, will be leaving WWE effective January 1, 2010.

You cant post in the general forum because you should have at least 50 points of reputation.
About Shane, well he is a big MMA fan, so maybe in the near future he will do something in the UFC.

Just FYI for people who don't follow wrestling news too much:
Shane McMahon has already quit his position at WWE. I think he was the president of global operations or something like that. Even though he quit, he will be remaining on the job until Jan. 1 2010. That should dispel any wwe-ufc rumors there might be from this meeting with Dana.
I think having Shane would be a tremendous asset for the UFC. He is a good promoter and I believe he is a huge mma fan as well.
On another interesting note, Linda McMahon has also resigned from WWE as she attempts to be nominated to run for congress in Connecticut. So its only Vince and Steph left to run "the biz".

I think it would be a good pick up for a number of reasons, especially with the global expansion plans the UFC has. I know some MMA purists may object to having a former Pro-Wrestling personality in a management position with the UFC but a side from the in-ring content, there are too many similarities in the industries to ignore. WWE are first and for most promoters and a major pay-per-view revenue generated business. Sound familiar? Plus he's a big fan of the sport.
The WWE/F in the past has had a major global presence, holding shows throughout europe, the middle east, India, Australia and as the UFC expands their shows it only makes sense to bring a long somebody that has this type of experience.
This is going back to my wrestling fandom days, but I'm pretty sure that Shane was respected by and kept a good repoire with talent. Perhaps something that is currently lacking?
As to why he's quitting? Stephanie has long since claimed the heir to the WWE throne, leaving shane out in the cold, my guess it has something to do with this.
