Are there different levels of black belts? If yes, how many levels are there? Who is the highest level in the UFC?

Is Anderson Silva's level of BJJ as high as someone like Demian Maia?

In a belt ranking system its wierd. A black belt under your local BJJ gym is definitely different then getting a black belt from Rickson Gracie. It's defintiely hard to distinguish levels of black belts, but there are different levels of black belts.

You mean like 2nd, 3rd, 4th degree black belts? I dont think there is but i'm not 100% sure of that to be honest with you.

The way black belts are awarded will differ from gym to gym and instructor to instructor. Just depends on who you train under really. Some trainers will be fairly lax on who they give black belts out to and others will be extremely selective on who gets it. So you may end up with someone having a black belt under Joe Schmoe's MMA gym but if they go to a tougher trainer such as Rickson, they would probably be a purple belt.

In BJJ, you can be rewarded with stripes, based on skills, subs, attendance, bla bla bla;;
Belts vary form school to school. I am belted under royer, and if I was at a school back in canada or the states I would prob be a strong brown, or black;
As for Maia he has some sick skills in a BJJ roll, but has to still improve on sweeps and subs, while getting punched in the face..
Silvia trains with the Nogs, SO his BJJ is world class, it would be right up there..
The gym here in brazil he trains at is known for awsome BJJ..

It is also measured by your standing. Meaning if you are a world Champion in BJJ you hold a higher level than a regular BJJ black belt
