no fighter in MMA is more impressive than Anderson Silva. He makes it look so easy.
That said, Fedor is still #1 overall.

IF BJ would have beat GSP then he would be the winner IMO

I chose Jose Aldo, because he fought 4 times, all 4 wins by TKO (3 in the first round) Beat Cub Swanson in 8 seconds, and outwrestled one of the best wrestlers in his weight class, Mike Brown and got the belt. Huge year for him.
I can't say Anderson, because his Thales Leites fight was this year and he only fought twice. Can't say GSP because he only had 2 fights too and although he outclassed BJ he also took a fight to decision.

As far as being "impressed" this year, I think Cain and Mousasi really tipped the scale for me most, by fighting more than once or twice and really showing a marked explosion into being "big game" fighters.
Although I think Fedor's blistering finishing of Arlovski and Rogers is the most impressive of all. He's still the most impressive.
